I sync the radio broadcast. No women on it. Women aren't hired for their voice anyway so the option to mute them is highly recommended.

I don't mind it from a philosophical perspective. However we all know the reason most of them are there is because they ####ed somebody or are related to somebody, etc not due to their knowledge or sparkling personalities. Just sugar babies and side pieces madquerding as knowledgeable sports commentators, which they arent.

Them doing play by play generally doesn't both me, especially as long as the analyst working with them knows what he's talking about.
But Beth Mowins is absolutely horrible and should be relegated to WNBA games.

It's as simple as - it depends on who it is. I'm going back a ways but I always thought Mary Carillo was the best tennis analyst I ever listened too, better than all the men they teamed her with over those years.
As far as play-by-play, there's no reason a women can't do it as well as a man, most of the play-by-play folks in most sports never played the game either so that renders that argument moot right there IMHO.
I'll echo those saying Beth Mowlin's voice is nails on a chalk board, doesn't really matter what she's saying, I can't listen.

What is the mindset of the women that do this? They know they are breaking in on traditionally male spaces, and they know they have the advantage in getting hired because they are female. And they love the idea of 'she was the first woman in herstory' to cover this men's team, etc.
Male locker rooms are not a place for women. Neither are sidelines. Spitting, cussing, locker room talk. But now male athletes have to regulate their behavior and watch their words because a woman wants to make money covering men's sports.
The ones calling games or at the desk are taking away jobs from some poor bastard that busted his hump playing whatever sport it is.
Monica McNut getting her nails done while commentating. I remember one time Courtney Cronin literally started crying on air about how hard it is for women covering sports. The one thing you'd think they'd try to avoid given the stereotype and she couldn't help herself.
How many men cover 'the W', or any women's sports? Is it anywhere near the number of women who cover men's sports?
