This is only funny when people say it about a place like Madisonville

If you live in Atlanta you will spend half your life in traffic. No thanks.

terrible traffic

That's every big city. Houston and DC have far worse traffic than Atlanta.

lots of ghettos

Fair. But that is offset by the great number of in-town neighborhoods.

lots of sprawl

Again, that's every big city. At least here you have the Smokies and Blue Ridge an hour north and NE respectfully that stops the sprawl.

terrible downtown

Downtown has got a lot better. But remember that it has always been geared towards the convention crowd. Midtown is really where it's at.

It's a very large, spread out city. Whatever you are into, you can find something along those lines here. The traffic is a big issue for some, but in most cases, you can choose how close you live to your work. There are lots of events and restaurants too. Lots of jobs here too. There are good areas and bad areas, good schools and bad schools.

I've lived here for a long time. Traffic seldom bothers me, but then my office is in my basement. I am ready to move away, but I am just ready to be in a less populated area.

IMHO- I’d choose it over any other Southeastern city because it has the most opportunity and the weather differences between Nashville, Charlotte, and Atlanta seem minimal to me.

However, it is literally last on my list when compared to the top 10 US metro cities because I cannot stand the weather in the southeast, I don’t like fratty culture, and I don’t like Wakanda culture.

I don't understand how anyone who lives in Louisana, Mississippi, Alabama, or Tennessee could actually think that Atlanta is an unpleasent place to live.

Yeah the winters are a smidge colder and NSH and Charlotte get a little more snow and ice but that's it.

What’s the nightlife like these days?

Mid to late 90’s were a great time as so many places opened up and the 96 Olympics was also awesome.

Early to mid 2000’s East Andrews upstairs was amazing

Its all spread out though and not concentrated in any one area.

The Atlanta metro is fricking huge. 20 counties.

Ray Lewis killed the Buckhead bar scene.

There are still great clubs scattered throughout the city, but nothing like the concentration in Buckhead in the 90's
