there are so many that are useless. 30 years ago degrees actually meant something, or at least had more value, in the hiring process. With the amount of people getting degrees now they are not as valuable to employers.

Think from experience I’ll have to throw Sports Administration/Management into the mix.

Just go general business or something else.

Have a niece she was very smart and she attended a very nice private university out here. Never asked my brother what her degree was in. Fast forward to graduation and I found out she got a degree to become a Librarian. I looked at my brother and went
He told me he tried talking her out of it. She has a job I believe at the local university in the media department. I am sure she is bringing in probably 35 K a year.

People always crap on sociology and I get the reason why, but it may be the best bachelor of arts degree. It can actually be used in counseling, social work, teaching government in high school, and most law enforcement agencies accept it as a direct substitute for a criminal justice degree. The degree itself usually contains at least one high level statistics math class, research methods classes, and a lot of writing. You'll never set the world on fire salary wise but you'll be able to get a decent job, unlike some of these idiotic specialized degrees. You will however be politcally indoctrinated by the time you receive your degree.

Online Masters of Liberal Arts,

At the time he could only transfer if he majored in something OSU didn't offer. Are you sure that's what he got his masters in? If so does OSU not offer it?

There are no useless degrees, only useless people.

I know plenty of successful people with sociology, English, history, psych degrees, etc. I also know plenty of unsuccessful people with Engineering and other STEM degrees.

I’m making decent money now, but not due to the field of study.

Mass Comm

This is an interesting one IMO.

I don’t think anyone should be getting a comm degree, but I think most business and engineering majors would benefit greatly from a minor in communication.

Understanding psychology and persuasion has been the tipping point good or bad in more progressional careers than just about any other factor.

I mean, what were you thinking when you were majoring in history? Did you think that was going to be a lucrative field? Sounds like you are the problem, not the degree.

Ahh a new, fresh topic.

OT: everyone should be an engineer. if you aren't an engineer you should kill yourself immediately.

Also OT: why is their no good music or art anymore?

IDK maybe because you mid wits only care about "making money" and nothing else. lmao.

many times to work for the government you just need a degree, or to start a better position in the government

My brother’s useless liberal arts degree got him a nice lucrative government job that even Trump won’t get rid of

Seriously, my 400lb coworker who stays at her desk during break and doodles while listening to K-Pop just got her Library Science degree.

Yeah, good luck with that.

i mean depends on what you want to do but the most useless is general studies

followed by religious studies if you do not plan to go into preaching or clergy

from there you start going into the lib arts programs

Finance from Harvard, Wharton, MIT will do much better than Louisiana Tech STEM.

Also some STEMs like Biology are useless without med school. Finance degree would be a better route than biology undergrad alone.
