I don’t know how you can put OKC as underrated. I spent a week there and it was miserable. Nothing to do and the food was very underwhelming.
Unless you get to SE or NW OK it's all boring.

Really enjoyed my visit to Pittsburgh last summer. I visited around July 4th and the weather compared to the south felt like a nice spring day. Day 1: We drove out to Ohiopyle area and did some short hiking and swimming in a pretty stream. Since Falling Fater was all booked up we did another Frank Lloyd Wright house in the area called Kentuck Knob. It was really cool to see in person. We finished the day on the look out over looking the city, and rode their Incline.
Day 2 we went to see the Randy House a quick neat tour known for its colorful, eclectic outdoor displays. Then drove a short distance to downtown and had some coffee near the glass castle buildings, walked over to the point where the 2 rivers come together and got a view of the bridges and stadiums. Then later that night went to a Pittsburgh Pirates game and watched the LSU pitcher pitch and they set a record for homeruns that night, so lots of fireworks.
Day 3 We went to the Botantical Gardens and park area. The botanticals were awesome so many rooms full of plants from around the world and flowers. They had an under the sea theme going on. After that we went to the Heinz musuem which was nice for a quick tour. We also walked over and had dinner in the northshore district.
Day 4 we drove up to McConnells Mill state park and saw the mill, the birdge, and then did one 2 hour hike and 2 other shorter hikes to different outlooks and waterfalls. The drive and landscape was beautiful and a great change from the south with the hills, farms, and fauna. I tried a Primanti Sandwich that night at a franchised location and enjoyed it along with their own beer.
In the end i guess a vacation is all about planning and what you do with your time. Some want to get out and mix up the adventure. Others are just worried about the bars and food.

There's also a big difference between good city to visit and a good city to live. Some places are in one category but not the other.
New Orleans is great to visit but a bad place to live.

Pittsburgh- Great food scene, downtown and north northsore areas have a ton of dining/bar/things to do. Steelers, Pirates and Penguins all plan close to the bars and shops.
Used to live in Pittsburgh.
I will disagree on the food scene. What that region considers good would fall flat in New York, San Francisco, Chicago, New Orleans, or even Detroit, Baton Rouge, or Houston. Not that it’s bad (there are areas where it’s awesome) but it’s just not really even top 10 for food.
But otherwise it’s a nice town. Not too expensive yet. Plenty to do. Winters can suck but summers are not too bad. The typography and surrounding area is beautiful especially in the fall.

I certainly wasn’t comparing the food scene to the top 5 largest MSA in the country, but to cities of like size. I figured that was implied.

I haven't been there since 1983, but that was even true then. I really liked Pittsburgh; I was surprised by that.

Newport, RI
Never been there, but I have been to East Providence and that place seemed pretty cool, too. It was for work, so I only looked around a little, but I did like seeing all these older places.

Never been and not planning on going.

Underrated: Louisville. Great food. Bourbon. Moderate weather. Clean downtown.

Best Calzone I ever ate was at a place just outside of Pittsburgh. I cannot recall the name of the place, it was in 1983

And this overgeneralization is why people that look up to Rachel Maddow and Rashida Tlaib have mental disorders far exceeding the retarded rednecks they so despise
Ah yes, I don't live in a bubble so therefore I must be a raging leftist with purple hair that loves Rachel Maddow and Rashida Talib. You honestly just proved my point that a lot of yall need to touch grass. Social Media has ruined the left and the right wing perceptions of things, I was just pointing that out but looks like you pretty much proved my point.

Nashville is way overrated. Lived there for over 10 years, three interstate meet downtown, the roads will give you flat tires, and unless you want to be a country music star there isn't much to do.
I don't know about way overrated...you do get all four seasons, there is a lot to do in a small area (lower Broadway), and the city is very walkable.
With that said, if you take out lower Broadway, which most locals barely go to anyways (ridiculously expensive), what makes Nashville different than any other city? Plus, the traffic is ridiculous and prices, generally speaking, are absurd here.
I think that pre-pandemic, Nashville was an underrated gem. But it's bloated and doesn't feel very unique nowadays.

One of the most underrated food towns in the country. Lot of ethnic food choices due to the Slavic=Polish/Italian populations.

I enjoyed Pittsburgh as well. I've probably been there 10 times for work. Give me Pittsburgh over Philly all day.

You were 15 minites west of my family's hometown.
We always drive out to McConnell's when we're up visiting.
