A lot of people’s American dream is sitting on their arse and living off of the people that work

Damn, I didn't realize gold plated truck nuts were so expensive.

At what level does anecdotal become actual? If you had 324 million people in the US saying the exact same thing, would you still call it anecdotal?

The problem really isn't obstacles, it is more so that most people believe more wealth will bring more happiness.
The truth is that as your wealth grows, so does your desire for material possessions. You will never truly be happy this way.
Instead of always looking at the future for happiness, learn to enjoy the present.

You can enjoy life just fine on a fraction of that.

bullshite..
You can build this for around $40K, have a house that's paid for, then take the job you want, where you want, not the one you have to have. Somewhere along the line the "American Dream" meant bigger houses, fancier cars, and becoming a slave to a mortgage and possessions.
Personally, that's not much of a dream. You bought into consumerism and status, that's your problem.

Parents and how they raise their children. People grow up without the skills or knowledge to break the cycle

You get one those, you win.

Success is a very relative word.

Stop believing the left wing tripe that is being poured into your head.

What about people who are "winning" with the house, white picket fence and family? That..was the American dream.
It's within reach of everyone.

The biggest indicator of your future wealth is not your intellectual capacity, amount of education, work ethic, but wealth of your parents.
Correlation vs. causation issue here.
The biggest indicator of future wealth is most definitely intelligence. It turns out that intelligence is very genetic... so you see why current wealth predicts future wealth.
I'm not saying there aren't exceptions to the rule btw, because there definitely are.

Just using some basic figures, the average income in the US is $62K annually
And I'm pretty sure that is household income not individual. If you cant live the american dream for less than 300k you're doing something wrong.

Although it's easier to start a business if you inherit money, versus having to borrow money, it doesn't necessarily mean the business will be successful.
I know many successful business owners who didn't inherit shite. They built their businesses through hard work and determination.
In fact, I heard on the radio the other day that over 90% of millionaires did not inherit their wealth.
