The single biggest factor predictive of success is IQ. It just so happens that IQ is heritable to a very high degree, meaning that it looks like money just rolls down through generations.

I have been employed before, making more, similar, and less. It's okay if you already have things, and your stuff is paid off. Once one or two things break, you start sweating. Bills never stop

It's a combination of things. I think one of the biggest one is FEAR. You can look up all the motivational videos, read all the self help books you want, but if you don't believe in yourself, it won't work out.

Currently, it’s cost about 300k a year to live the American dream.
Dude wakes up when he wants, fishes or hunts damn near every day, has a hell of a dog and loves beer and grilling. He rebuilt his grandpaws old 1985 Ford and it runs like a top. Has no car note, has no mortgage, has no loans and works on boats. He's got a nice little shop that he saved up for. His work attire is basketball shorts, a sleeveless shirt and listens to music all goddamn day.
He may make 20 or 30 grand a year but that's my damn dream.

There is not any correlation whatsoever. There is no data suggesting so. In fact, most of the smarter people I know go down two paths....academia or drugs

I don't think the statement about the wealth of your parents is incorrect.....in a completely technical sense. Its like he worded it that way intentionally....
He said "indicator," not cause...
I would almost guarantee you that the strongest correlation between those who are wealthy and those who are not is the wealth of their parents...But as every atheist on the planet loves to say...Correlation is not causation.

You must be wonderful at parties.
Your personality inspires flight.

That's a poor assumption. Of all of the people I have met with high IQ's, roughly half didn't apply themselves. They didn't turn out poor, but they didn't climb as high as they should have.
