Chain only.. Cracker Barrel has to be #1. I feel like I should say Shoney's but haven't eaten one of those in forever and don't see them much.

Arby’s has the meats

But lets be honest, have you ever been to an Arby’s?! Gotta be a laundering front

I just drove 25 hours over the last 48, but didn’t stop and eat at an actual restaurant.

But I would keep driving until I found an exit with a Chick Fil A when I was hungry.

Cracker Barrel
IHOP
Steak N Shake
Waffle House
Perkins

Except for breakfast, I will usually look for a local BBQ place if in a BBQ state.

Based on your criteria, Cracker Barrel has to be up there. Mainly bc they are consistent.

On a road trip, when looking for a place to eat, consistency is the key. Know what you want and know what to expect.

And the x-factor with cracker barrel, if there is a wait your party can get some alone time while they shop around. Road trips can get ornery with shitty travelers.

Location has to matter as well. Nation wide vs regional.

I always like to like the day before and get something local. Backroad BBQ joint's are my shite.

Don’t have time for a sit down. Gotta get this load of sex toys to Supatigah’s house by morning

When on the road, go with what you know. Like posted earlier consistency matters. You know you will get a decent meal at Cracker Barrel, Chik-Fil-A, and some others. Only problem with Chik-Fil-A is they are closed on Sunday.

Other thing I look for is where ever you see a lot of 18 wheelers is usually a good clue the food is good. Last time going through El Paso we stopped at a truck stop that was packed. They had a place in there that was great. Truckers like their food, and know where every good spot out there is!!

Also the food board on here is a good place to ask. Let them know your route, and you can find the whole in the wall places along your route.

Shoneys reminds me more of my grandparents bringing me to a restaurant than a road trip spot
