In today’s dating market if a man doesn’t have all 3 of these he is pretty much out of the dating market. The average woman wants absolutely NOTHING to do with the average male. Welcome to 2026. Best of luck in this market.

Anyone have success stories to share? And I could use some words of encouragement for those of you that have gone thru a divorce. TIA
It's been awhile since I app dated, but I met my fiance on Match (and he was divorced). If you're not looking to just hook up, it felt like being a paid app that folks took it a little more seriously. We were both in our late 30s dating, so Tinder felt too young. And Hinge and Bumble weren't really a thing yet (I have had friends our age have success on Hinge).
OKCupid was harrowing at best.

Yeah, I'm well aware. It sucks, I never expected to be in this position. I'm 5'11 and do well for myself, but I've heard women only want 6ft or taller

I just want someone to talk to and see where it goes. It's been lonely the past few months

I hear there's a really good one called Grindr.
Is that where you dads met?

alot of women on the sites will do you a favor and list something like "MAGats" need not message me or something. So it makes ruling out the liberals easier, at least.

Facebook marketplace.
Facebook dating is a good one.
I have a divorced friend who's has a new lady friend every couple weeks. At first I was kinda jealous, but now I just feel bad for him.

I’m 47 and went through the same thing a little over a year ago. I’ll echo what many have already said. It’s tough for a multitude of reasons. The biggest shock for me was seeing the standards/expectations of women (of all ages) today. The craziest being women who hit their prime years ago yet demand more than ever.
Also consider the dating scene where you live. South Louisiana is a total wasteland full of tattooed, pierced liberal women. Any attractive woman who doesn’t fit that mold will be talking to multiple guys at once because all of the women are inundated with matches. Bigger metro areas are going to give you better results. I opened an app in Dallas and couldn’t believe it. It was night and day compared to BR, Lafayette, etc.

How long did it take you to feel better? I'm not gonna lie, this has been really hard

Don’t be shy. Talk to them. They act disinterested, move on. Don’t chase. Be confident. Dress well. Be clean. Be yourself. Make them laugh. Be a bit of a bad boy.
I would say be tall but that’s a big mountain to climb if you’re not.

NEVER say this to a woman.
YOU are the prize, act like it.
TONS of horny women out there.
You are in Cali, go to the popular beaches.
STOP looking at porn/ jerking off. Women sense this.
SMILE & say hi to every woman you pass or come in contact with. If she smells good, tell her. Cute dress, say it. Women desire being approached by confident men.
Go to the gym as often as possible. Get in shape, meet in shape women.
Join running club/jog where women jog.
Get some sun.
Update your wardrobe.
Buy all new shoes (women notice)
New haircut/style.
Meet women in bars/concerts/music venues, festivals also. They go for the same reason we do.
Believe in yourself.
Be confident always.
Dress & present yourself like you are going to meet the woman of your dreams, one day you will.
Read The Game by Neil Strauss. Read The Mystery Method. You can also find free videos of them on YouTube. (You will hear negative comments about this suggestion, fvck them, this works) They give great ideas on openers/how to lead/what to say & avoid saying etc.
Be picky, don't chase, but be forward.
Edit to add: The only women out of your league are the ones YOU put therer.

From your replies about being lonely and how this has been really hard, you have no business going out into the dating pool right now. Women will smell that neediness and hurt a mile away. It's a turnoff.
You need to do some serious work on yourself right now. I suggest you do nothing, you need some time for you. Keep working out and getting out in public, but don't be looking for anything in the dating scene. You do that and you'd be surprised at what just naturally happens.
