Spend a weekend in Glacier Bay N.P. Its only 50 miles from here but a weekend would cost more than $1k.

blowing it on fremont street. you get way more for your money.

AMEN. If you gotta go, if it is unavoidable for whatever reason, stay on Fremont Street. Unless of course you like shopping malls and Olive Garden quality restaurants.....

A little self control and it can be a cheap trip

It really can be. I've done road trips and hunts out west a few times and we always start in Vegas when we can because the rooms are cheap and its fun to walk around the strip and maybe see a show. Its everything else that is so expensive if you get swept up in the booze, gambling, and women.

On our road trips our Vegas room is usually the cheapest one of the trip.

A new set of irons, and a new cart bag.

$2K on a Vegas trip

That only covers the flight and hotel room

Vegas had become a corporate soul sucking experience.

the big corporations took it all over. Today it looks like Disneyland. And while the kids play cardboard pirates, Mommy and Daddy drop the house payments and Junior's college money on the poker slots. In the old days, dealers knew your name, what you drank, what you played. Today, it's like checking into an airport. And if you order room service, you're lucky if you get it by Thursday. Today, it's all gone. You get a whale show up with $4 million in a suitcase, and some 25-year-old hotel school kid is gonna want his Social Security Number. After the Teamsters got knocked out of the box, the corporations tore down practically every one of the old casinos. And where did the money come from to rebuild the pyramids? Junk bonds.

People that are critical of Vegas ain’t doing it right. If you’re on a budget go elsewhere. If you want an experience, Vegas is great. One of the things that don’t get talked about is the restaurants. Absolutely amazing choices that can match or exceed any city in the country. Buffets are for old Poors

I can do a full trip in Vegas Sunday to Thursday with air and hotel for $1000, can’t beat that anywhere and that’s with about $500 in gambling losses, occasionally I win

When I go to Europe, the last thing on my mind is gambling. Has nothing to do with being poor. Vegas is a two hour flight. Europe??

I could have a good time staying in Vegas with 2k. But I would probably spend most of my time hiking on Mount Charleston.
