Don't remember any prices from high school ('93 grad), but do remember regular unleaded gas being about $.95 as a freshman in college.

I guess that would have been roughly the same price as a senior in HS. LOL.

It isn't a price, but the first thing I thought of were the "win a free drink" bottle tops. Those have been gone for a while.

Was the first of my friends to turn 18 our senior year. Went and bought some friends cigarettes, just so I could use my ID legally. Gave the cashier a ten dollar bill, got four packs and had enough for two scratch offs.

Even got change to use for the scratch offs.

Circa 2000: Ms Mae's well drinks were $1. The low cost of the drinks happened to be brought up with an uncle, who is ~15 years older than I am. He said that their well drinks were around $0.80 in 1985. Ms Mae (RIP) did her best to fight inflation. I know that the cost doubled from $1 to $2 around 2008ish and people freaked out, but it was still a great deal. I can't remember if it was before or after Mae died.

Also, sub $4 pack of smokes.

Two packs of Winston Selects cost $1.99.

A six pack of Schaefer beer cost $1.99.

An ounce of weed was $100, but only if you were paying retail.

$300 per month rent would get you a place with no dad and no rats (and only a few roaches).

$0.29 hamburgers every Tuesday at McDonald's.

The first time I filled up my first truck with gas, it was $1.25 a gallon.

Bringing a date to a movie cost exactly $20. $7.50 per ticket and $5 for a large popcorn and coke to share.
