I don't think many people know this. Not like it's common knowledge.

There was room for both of them on there.

This was not obvious to me. I consider myself pretty solid in geography, but I never realized this until I read it here, just now. It's surprising because of the climate difference.

Those same people don't know that Canton, Ohio is further east than Savannah, Georgia.

I'm sure you know many people as this is hardly common knowledge.

That's not that obvious then. Never thought of it, but I assumed they were about the same.

When I was about 20, a friend of mine (about my age) asked me if I knew how to make Kool-Aid.

I will rag on myself... My first semester at UT-knox I had my own apartment. I was 18 and I have never really used either before that. Mom always did my clothes my whole life up until that point

shite, a lot of people don't know that Chicago is farther north than NYC.

Had a coworker going to Boston for a seminar and they thought they could "drive up" to NYC as well. "You mean down?" "No, drive or take a train up north to New York"

Thought North Carolina was further north than South Dakota.

Also, the inability to name all the US states that border the pacific ocean.

Lots of geography stuff.
