Commercial pilot.

Just wrapped this up. Sitting at 255 hours, still stuck flying a desk. Feels more and more like you have to know somebody to find a right seat 91/135 gig. Market is saturated with low time pilots

Airlines are cyclical. There are hiring booms then periods where there aren't any jobs but it will come back around in a couple years as mire and more baby boomers hit forced retirement at 65. If you have 255 total hours then you will need those two years to build time to get to 1500 hours. May I ask how many of those hours are multi-engine PIC?

Weld and material inspections. Most work out of their own trucks and go to the job for onsite inspections and tests. These guys are killing it and in pretty high demand.

No multi engine yet. Not in a position to quickly time build to 1500. Just trying to angle for a local right seat gig or fish spotter.

A welder that can read a tape measure can easily make 200k per year

This is what I do, average 4k per week. Started doing this in 2010. I am always looking for good inspectors.

Our sector in the Life Safety & Property Protection arena gets fortified with more regulation every year, meaning more rules to follow is good for our business.

FWIW, $100k isn't as well off as it was 4-5 years ago.

Yeah, well, I'll take $100K pissing around.

I wouldn't take 100k to live in or near Atlanta. Really, 100k isn't shite anymore. That's a lower middle class life.

Can verify the UPS drivers make bank. My uncle topped out at $42/hr before he retired and I have a good friend currently making right at $50/hr. They do work 6 days a week October-December though and put in 14-16 hours days then.

That’s interesting considering it’s union work and the top negotiated rate is just over $45/hour

I thought he said $49/hr. Might have been $45/hr. I do know he is at the max of the pay scale.

Waste Management recently was paying 100k to be on the back of the garbage truck. They had to pay it to get anybody to do it. Driver paid 75k.

The more “prestigious” a job, the less it pays because it’s easy to find employees. A banker for example, doesn’t make squat because they work inside and get to say they work at a bank. Garbage man and window washer are not prestigious so they have to pay more.

I know a driver for Republic that makes 120k but he works about 30 hours of overtime every month.
