McDonalds only requires that they be black and slip-resistant (because that grease from the fries splatters on the floor). You can probably get a pair of used ones at your favorite Goodwill store.

Allbirds would work, then just leave your work shoes at the office and change when you get there.

Couple options for you:

If you are going cheap, do what everyone else said and leave a pair of dress shoes at work and wear tennis shoes to work

My work clothes are fairly casual so good luck if you’re wearing a suit everyday

You gotta worry about water resistant shoes too since you’re walking. You might not walk in the rain, but just hitting a couple puddles can ruin a good pair of shoes

Then if you want an all in one option:
Rockport is cheaper end

These are comfortable and water resistant, but still look good

Cole Haan Zerogrand for higher end
I like these a lot but they aren’t cheap, and not water resistant really. But feel like tennis shoes

Yep, the correct answer is to leave your dress shoes at work and change once you get there. Since you provided us no other details, I'm going to assume work attire is business casual. Just get a pair of black/dark tennis shoes so they don't stand out when you arrive. I wouldn't want to put that much wear and tear on a pair of dress shoes anyway.
