Pretty much any job other than a government job, it seems to be the only field with a steady growth.

Plant Operators. Soon everything will be automated.

Everything is already automated stupid. Plant operators monitor the equipment and manually override when it fricks up.

a good portion of the plant is "automated" but you need someone to operate the system.

But you still need operators to keep an eye on the unit. Listen and look for things that artificial intelligence couldn't. And for maintenance.

eta: cashier
Walmart self checkout, Paying via phone, Amazon groceries (and the Amazon dash buttons), etc.
Perfect timing considering they're demanding $15/hour now.

I don't get your point on pharm sales or nursing. Nursing is not saturated.

I don't get the nursing comment. Seems as if there is still a real shortage in the field in many cities

If OP is posting in Louisiana? Then it's true. But nationally there is a shortage.

I don't think there is a shortage of RN's. I think there is a shortage of RN's wanting to work as a traditional RN used to.

There are too many other opportunities for your background these days to convince you to work a hospital floor.
