The North fought the civil war over slaves

FIFY
Northerners generally didnt give 2 squats about the plight of slaves. It was about maintaining the union at a time when nationalism, industrial growth, and centralization were growing trends in Western civilization.

The South, however, did pursue secession and war after attempts in Congress to spread slavery into the Western territories/states failed. It was economically driven, sure, but slavery was absolutely the biggest Southern motivator. Others being a preference for a decentralized system (not nec. "States Rights" but related) and the Morrill Tariff on exports which def hurt the South economically.
Maintaining an entrenched slave system (for economic survival) was raison d'etre numero uno.

Yeah, thanks to the libertarian/and or rightwing kooks who believe that bullshite, diseases that had been well-nigh eradicated have made a big comeback

Uh, no.

Might want to take another look at where the lowest vaccination rates are in the country and where these diseases are popping up.

Hint: it’s in crunchy granola lefty territory like Marin County and large immigrant communities like Vancouver, WA.

tigersfan64 is exhibit A of what a misleading, biased media does to people. It turns them into misinformed zombies.

Let’s review the “trump tower meeting” that tigersfan64 claims is an example of collusion with the russian govt

1) the meeting was not set up by russian govt, it was set up by Azerbaijanian singer emil agalarov and British publicist rob goldstone. Rob goldstone admits he made up everything in the email about russian crown prosecutor and Russians having dirt. He called it “publicist puff” to get Don Jr’s attention.

2) the meeting was a dud that ended early due to boredom. It ended up being a lobbying campaign against the magintksky act. No “dirt” on clinton was exchanged.

Yet tigersfan64 believes it was evidence of a grand, coordinated conspiracy between the Russians and trump

Man has directly impacted the earth and has caused climate change. There’s overwhelming evidence, some Americans disagree because a politician tells them science is a liar.

That’s what I meant, sorry if it was unclear

I think the paranoid alarmism turns a lot of people off of the climate change movement

The predictions are simply too dire and a lot of people who were making prognostications made in early 2000s look absurd in hindsight

Al gore has done the movement no favors

Nope. It ain't the liberal voters who are whining and bitching about the "nanny" state requiring children to be vaccinated. It's the con ilk such as Jenny McCarthy promoting not getting your kids vaccinated. Libertarians and cons bitch and complain all the time about the "nanny" state doing things for the greater good.

Lol MUH climate change. We are going to all die in 12 years or less due to CO2 emissions!!! The glaciers are melting!! The ocean is rising!!!

All of the above are completely false and made up money grabs. Climate change is a hoax and it is a term progressives made up after moving the goalposts on “global warming.”

You’re doing exactly what was mentioned above and ignoring studies done by literal rocket scientists because a politician told you to.

Science and studies from non-Democratic hacks shows that glaciers are growing and we are colder in the poles. Again it’s a hoax for more government control / money to progressive agendas.

You can believe in man made climate change while also believing it not to be as damaging and extreme in its effects as people like al gore have claimed.

Again, the predictions made in 2000,2001,2002, etc about what the world will be like in 2018 have been fantastically wrong.

Furthermore, it’s flat out dumb to engage in carbon controls on the national level. America emits like 10% of total carbon. Australia even less.

All national legislation would do is make energy more expensive while not making a difference at all for health of planet
