My job is global in scope and I get to work in really interesting aerospace, defense, biomedical, and space exploration projects. I have access to physicists, generals, military and rocket test ranges, night vision labs, all of NASA, drone technologies, robotics for undersea exploration, agriculture and AI applications. There's no "job description" this fits into and I sort of carved out a niche for myself where only a handful of people, even within my own organization, know what I do. Now that I'm retirement age, they are begging me not to fully retire and to stay on and guide training of someone and make the passing of the torch, so to speak, when I'm ready.

It's a hard decision to make about retiring. I hate the corporate bullshite, but otherwise, I love what I get exposed to and consulted on and that I have business relations all across the world, not just in the US.

Like I said, except for corporate bullshite, it's a cool job.

You may very well have all of that. I hope that you do. But you are still no lucky enough to touch my penis. So in the Very long run...I win.

I had a buddy in high school who kept an extension ladder on his truck and would drive around and start cleaning people's gutters. When they came and asked what the hell he was doing he'd say "John asked me to clean the gutters". Of course most of the time they did not know who John was but more often than not paid him $20 to finish the job...sometimes not but more often than not. He could easily make a couple of hundred dollars on a Saturday and that was some serious money for a few hours work in the early 80s.

Friend of mine was a Headhunter for hospitals for years. They'd call him if they were looking for like a ENT or neurosurgeon and he'd recruit them to said hospital. Seemed like a pretty sweet gig. I think he'd get like 30-50k per recruit.

Actually, in a way, we own your mind, so, when you touch your own penis, we know it already, thusly, we win. We just let you think you won. It's easier this way.

Cruise ship work is fantastic for a young, single person.

My friend who is a Shore ex exec travels the world free and does all kinds of neat stuff.

I wouldn't trade my work location for any other. Its like vacationing. The union crew makes $40/hour plus and work maybe two hours a day. They're spoiled.

Elevator Inspector...not a really difficult job to do, and there is a deficit of them, so their pay has skyrocketed in recent years.

Its a racket, a protected market. Those guys do very well.

In Alaska you can't touch an elevator without a certified person there. If someone is stuck in an elevator and there's no inspector in town, technically you can't free them until one arrives.

Bet your hands are soft as a Preachers.

There's nothing more awesome than the sound of a chainsaw ripping through a tree, the subsequent fell, and then peaceful silence.

I know a guy who works in defense contracts in the Huntsville/Redstone area. He makes over $250k a year developing and flying decoy drones and UAVs that are to be shot down. It is a very niche market because he maintains separation from the U.S. military intelligence and studies tactics from all over the globe (North Korea, Russia, Iran, etc). He specializes in getting targeted by prototype technologies like kinetic energy weapons (no warhead), lasers, electromagnetic, etc.

I work with Redstone and three other companies in Huntsville working on anti-drone technologies. Likely, I know your friend.

I know a pair of brothers that didnt come back to oilfield. They now haul boats up and down the east coast. We are talking some big boats and require experts. They started small in 2015 and on their time off would take trips hauling together. Slowly built up the bigger yachts. Now the work maybe 20 weeks a year and make millions

Some of those HCBY’s could be considered “yachts” hence the name. They aren’t built near the coast and definitely get towed.

Whoever it is that got in with Billy Freeman early stays busy hauling those boats from the factory.
