Apparently this kind of crap brings out my fascism. I think all this protesting is useless. You’re protesting actions of individual officers. No one policy is going to change anything like a voting rights act or ADA.

It’s uneducated, ignorant people screaming at clouds as one voice.

Nah, that part wasn't unacceptable. I didn't agree with what they were protesting for, but the style of protest was fine at that point.

But this part was unacceptable when his stepdad was standing in a crowd yelling to "burn this bitch down" as stores were being looted and burned down around them.

In my opinion, the vast majority of the cases where black people claim they were mistreated by the police is pure crap. I'm not saying every case is this way because I've seen a few situations where I agree that the cop is 100% at fault, but they're rare.

One idea that needs to be cleared up is that the only reason the police approached black citizen Z is due to racial profiling. There is no such thing as racial profiling. There is only profiling. Do liberals ever wonder why people like Dr. Ben Carson or Condoleezza Rice never have these problems? What about any of the many, many successful black business people, doctors, lawyers, professors etc.? Why is it usually only people that are uneducated, unemployed, and living ghetto fabulous that find themselves in these situations?

In several of these situations where a black man ends up dead the suspect started the encounter in a confrontational manner that continually escalated, leading to the suspect aggressively resisting arrest. In one of these controversies the suspect not only aggressively resisted but after breaking free, then tried to fight the officer. "You bleeding heart types tried to make the point that because the suspect was unarmed that the cop shouldn't have shot him. Although y'all wouldn't just come right out and say it, it was alluded to that cops should only be allowed to use equal force to whatever the suspect has, as if it's supposed to be a fair fight.

It would be best if the only protest were to just post about it on Facebook, but that probably isn't happening.

Any protest that further illustrates your own ignorance and willful denial of any personal responsibility for your own problems is not acceptable.

Oh come on, people hate those too when we see them.

The OT board doesn't like any form of protest.

I agreed with the kneeling as a protest. I disagreed with it as an ideology mind you, but Americans must stand up when they feel the government is wrong. I firmly will always believe this.

As for BLM, I am for the movement to an extent. I do not think I'm evil or white people are evil. I do not think cops are evil. I simply understand there are bad cops, and we must hold them accountable. We all know that guy. He bullied people in middle school and high school. Now he has a badge and an attitude and he is dangerous. That isnt the majority of cops. The problem is that one bad seed can ruin many lives(see this latest cop who has killed multiple people).

That, we as citizens cant stand for. Government is for the people, and that means all of us.

All lives matter. Black lives matter. The government is for us, and when it does not do its job we have to strike back. It is why our founding fathers started a war. It is why we fought a civil war. Citizens must fight when wronged, or the government has full control.

Protest at the ballot box. Vote in politicians that have similar ideals as you. Nobody listens to the child throwing a temper tantrum.

These "protestors" also don't have a unified voice. I don't even know what they're protesting at this point. In some of the videos I was watching, they were alternatingly chanting "No justice, no peace. Hands up, don't shoot" which are pretty conflicting statements. Some say they want the officers charged with murder, others are saying they protesting racism across America, and others are saying "burn this mother fricker down". Until you have clear (reasonable) demands, this protests have no direction and will not amount to any change.

Of all the protests(violent or peaceful), and for all the reasons(good or bad), how many actually incited actual change? Protests are the adult version of pouting.

Yes, the riots are extreme, disgraceful, etc. But a large majority of people try to ignore the core issue and reason behind the protests by feigning outrage over the avenue of the protest. Like with kneeling.

You completely dismiss the looting and burning. However, the people looting and burning are not the same group as the people protesting in the streets. The only connection is that it's at the same time and used as an excuse to loot. The looters don't give a frick about the man that was killed. I would throw them into the large majority ignoring the core issue.
Destroying property and stealing doesn't have shite to do with the police, which is the claimed problem. Rioting over excessive use of force from police in a fashion that effects innocent people and businesses that have nothing to do with the police force is unacceptable. Actually it will eventually lead to the need for excessive force from the police.
Also, the officer isn't and was never going to just continue on business as usual after this. Do people think that if they didn't protest, nothing would have been done to him?
Also, what did the man killed do to be arrested in the first place? I haven't followed this one closely because it's just the same shite over and over with these claims of police violence towards black men. I'm not saying this wasn't violent and excessive, it without a doubt was. That officer is not representative of all police, probably not even representative of .001% of all officers out there.

Okay, so again - what is an acceptable avenue? Peaceful is not okay, violent is not okay.

What should it be, or should protest in either form not be allowable?

Not destroy your community. Not to commit more crimes against your fellow citizen.

I had no problem with Kaepernik protesting. My issue is he focused on Black people being killed while unarmed. Which is a very very very very very small percent of deaths. And that's it. If he would stand up against police brutality and make a cry to have all citizens stop committing crimes. then I would listen to him.

The flag had nothing to do with this. This is a both sides issue. You need changed behavior from officers and civilians. Civilians kill people and commit crimes at a much higher rate than the fricking police. Maybe if they werent scared for their lives and hiring from the bottom of the barrel, this shite would happen less.

Protesting is a major point of our republics way of demonstrating in this country. MLK is the poster child for this and showing that people will rally towards your side when they see true oppression by the authorities.. Rioting is unacceptable and in the case of last night we are seeing white anarchism reign while many black and white peaceful protesters are left sitting on the sidelines.

There was almost universal condemnation of the police actions and calls for justice. When the violence started, all positive thoughts left the room. You solved nothing with senseless violence and destruction of private property.
