Sure, that's the proper way to do it but if they don't want to live in poverty they can just wait until after their 22nd birthday.

If you want an ‘almost guarantee’ of staying out of poverty, you gotta get more than a high school diploma.. you need a 4 yr degree, or a valuable trade.. only going as far as high school graduation, you might not be deeply entrenched in poverty, but you will most likely be a member of the living paycheck-to-paycheck working poor.

Don't sweat shite. You'll be fine regardless. 90% of the stuff we fear never will happen.
Take a year off after college and go have fun. Work in a national park, ski area, big city of your dreams.

1. Don't waste the one for petty shite. I did. Took fourteen years to find someone as good.
2. Your personality will change over and over, that is normal, but never let your moral sense of right and wrong be dictated by a crowd or by hard times. Morals have to hold firm or you may lose who you are inside.

You will find people in your journey that seem to, however or whatever, give you energy and make you feel better. You talk with these folks and walk away feeling a foot off the ground. See these folks are often as possible. Be one of them.
You'll find others that seem to sap you of your energy. Avoid them whenever you can.

Beer, it's your best friend drink plenty of it. Girls, you're a freshmen so it's pretty much out of the question. Do you have a car? No? Someone on your floor will. make friends with them on the first day.
