They were before my time, my dad had one. Were they comfortable? Always wondered what laying on one would be like.

A major pain in the arse and not near as comfortable as it seems it would be.

Silly and not particularly comfortable.

It was a novelty to get dingy women on top of them though.

Horribly inconvenient, cheap, and uncomfortable. But a lot of fun.

Hell yeah, they were great. I slayed some poon on them in the 80s. No women could say no to a water bed.

They were comfortable enough as long as the heater was working.

They were absolute shite for having sex on though.

They were fine if you slept alone, but if a partner moved in bed you’d feel the waves. Also necessary to have a heater, otherwise it felt cold as shite.

Also would suck if it ever got a leak, great way to ruin a carpet.

a lot more trouble than they were worth. had one for several years. thought it was a cool thing to buy. but, setting it up/tearing it down was a pain in the arse.

woke with a backache a lot of times. got hot in the summer. cold when power went out

They were cold as shite if the fitted sheets slipped off.

I had them in my younger years. I loved them when sleeping alone. Would lay up against the side wall and have the heat on

No. They were horrible. Never understood the appeal.

My parents had a waterbed in the 80's for about a good 7-8 years and they both have serious back pain now. Not sure if that had anything to do with it.

Waterbeds were so popular that there were stores dedicated to them. Like Superior Waterbeds (Youtube) in Metairie and Gretna.

No.

The only time I was able to sleep on one was when I was blackout drunk. And that was a wild ride.

Not having your spine supported and aligned was a recipe for disaster
