Go to any store that isn't a dollar general in your area and take a pic of the bacon section. You're lying.

That doesn't mean there is no bacon anywhere close to $12 a pound where the moron posted.

Hyperinflation is going on. Flood the economy with worthless fiat currency. Read up on Weimar Germany after WW1.

and it was fricking $12 for 16 oz - double the price from a few months ago. This was at a discount supermarket.
What store and city? I have time this morning and will find you some better prices, locally, on that smoked meat candy.

Bacon has been in the $9-$10 per pound range where I shop for a few years now. Wright's has been around $12 per pound for that same timeframe.
Wright's bacon today price at Sam's Club is $6.70 lb

Just saw on the F&D Boston Butt is $0.97 per LB at Albertson's. OP is likely paying $2.89, though.

I'm going to go shoot some feral hogs then - this is stupid.

Point taken. I should have included the caveat of it not being on sale or at the bulk warehouse stores. That's a great price for Wright bacon.

Is your sole purpose in this thread to act as if the price of pretty much all groceries hasn't skyrocketed in the last several months?

No sir. I'm also here like many others to point out bacon is < $12.00. Is there some other underlying message I am missing here?? Surely it's just a thread about glorious pork.

Go to, or have someone you know go to Costco and buy their 3 lb. pack of thick cut Hickory Smoked bacon. I got some a few weeks ago and it was just over $4 a lb.
I can't imagine it being much higher now. I usually just buy pork bellies and make my own, but after checking the price of raw pork bellies, I opted to buy it already made as the price difference was a moot point.

Normally, the Boston butt sale price at Albertson's is $0.89/lb. So that's a 10% increase right there. It's still a great price, but even the great deals are getting slimmer.
And honestly, it's not the households and grocery shoppers that's it's killing. It's the restaurants and caterers buying thousands of pounds a year that are really getting wrecked. Most of them have already raised prices to compensate but they're still getting killed.

I've always thought bacon prices were a little ridiculous.
