I really enjoy when people speak so confidently about things they know nothing about

I told somebody this last year and they thought I was just hating on the winners. Every year they add categories.

Emeril’s was good years ago but has been a disaster since he hung it up and handed it off to his son. Sorry, I don’t want to spend $240 a head so I can NOT choose what I eat (fixed menu) and the items are two inches diameter but served on a 24 inch plate. Also BRING BACK THE BBQ SHRIMP. The old Emeril’s promised the bbq shrimp would “never leave the menu” and guess what, they’ve left the menu.

And here is why New Orleans didn’t get many stars in a nutshell.

Not surprised about Emeril’s, but the fact that August didn’t make the list discredits the selection process to me.

Everyone on the food board who frequent these places says Emerils definitely deserves it.

I have heard August has been killing it lately after a long downturn.

But we all knew they wouldn't get a star, and we all know why

They were on the "recommended" list I think

It’s a shame everyone is just arguing over Emeril’s and not one mention of Zasu. Wife and I went there a few months ago and had an excellent meal.

The funny thing is I haven't been to Zasu since they first opened. I thought it was good when we went but I never went back and its just not a place I ever think about

Tiny restaurant and everyone that goes likes it

Humor us non-local folks. Why wouldn't they be in the running for a star?

John Besh's scandal (sexual harassment stuff and affair that really slammed his restaurant group). It was big national news at the time because he was starting to become a food network star kind of guy and a bunch of places got caught up in the MeToo stuff, including his group.

He's been persona non grata in the industry for awhile because of it

He hasn't been personally involved with the day to day with August in a long time, but because of that press it may be hard for them to ever get a Star.

Everyone knew it was going to be Emeril's.
I don't see what the problem is with that.

John Besh was screwing around with some of his women employees and got in trouble.
That was a long time ago.
