Haven’t read all 25 pages, so if it was mentioned sorry.
If you aren’t going to wear Nike then don’t wear Converse either. Nike is the parent company of Converse.

so now you're giving lessons on the right and wrong way to start a thread and what is what isnt allowed?
I'm telling you what differentiates virtue signaling from a generic disagreement.
I used to think you acted dense on TD as part of your e-persona. The longer this thread goes, the more I think you're just generally dense IRL.

so let me get this straight
slackster states Kap gave up his career in the nfl for his beliefs
Kap was offered spots on teams but declined because it wasnt what he thought his value was
that doesnt jive with what slackster was implying
I said his protesting is what has kept him out of the league. His court case is about whether or not NFL teams colluded to lowball him and/or not offer him at all because of the protest. That may or may not be true, we'll know more as the case proceeds.
He could have backed off of his protest and likely received offers more in line with his on the field capabilities.
I'm not taking up for Kaep - I think he's a disingenuous hack who is clearly misinformed - but his protesting pretty clearly tanked his market value in the league. That's a sacrifice he made.

I feel like the first time he actually “sat” for the anthem he was just being the lazy, butt-hurt POS that he is... Then got the idea to turn it in to something else and now here we are.

I don't understand how it's "collusion" when owners don't want that/this liability. Look at this thread. This is why Nike should not have done this. It's controversial. With that said, Nike did it for a reason, whether it was to Target market, political agenda, or regular advertising, they shouldn't have done this.

i sometimes wish i could drastically and publicly fail downwards and then get an ad campaign and endorsement deal.
i credit this to the same society, who made the kardashians multi-multi millionaires. a broken one.
what a message we are sending our children and future generations

Somebody needs to fark the Nike Swoosh turned upside down, with the tagline "Not doing it"
Posted on 9/4/18 at 1:53 pm to RobbBobb
Apparently that would be "snowflakish" to do.

A lot of sophisticates in this thread. Expect nothing less from the TD Brain Trust.

Hard not to be when people can't understand why people are upset with Nikes marketing.
These people remind me of this picture I just took.

Lmao, sure it is.
Sorry "nasty woman", but your cat can't identify politics. Ignorance does show though.

I think it was a dumb move for Nike, but they're a company that has a rich history of making all the right moves from a marketing standpoint, so who knows?
As for the collusion, I guess we'll see. It's kind of like virtue signaling - if you don't sign him privately, it's fine. If you don't sign him because you all agreed not to sign him and/or to lowball him, you may have a problem.

I'll never understand why people get upset about meaningless things.
And not only get upset about it, change their actions because of it.
Just weird, overly emotional people to me.

In today's outrage culture, yeah. Everybody is looking to be outraged all the time.
And we wonder why companies market towards it?
