Well, since everything they tried to "get through" was directly related to helping those affected by the coronavirus...

....Nancy Pelosi is gloating. Got a smug look of prideful victory on her face - we got'um now.

Someone do it. All I’ve seen is hot words “corporate slush fund” with no insight as to what that is.

They can’t. If they did so people would be able to tell right away the truth doesn’t jive with the Democrat talking points.

Well, at least they are addressing election reform with this stimulus bill. Haaaaaaaah
This bill should disgust americans, I dont care what letter you have next to your name.
They had a chance to be genuine. Ok so you dont like giving money to the government to decide what to do with it ( all of sudden amirite? Thought this was the whole dem platform). Ok this was your chance to show us how much you care.....no instead you throw in election reform and raises for the house of reps.....
Spitting in the face of all of america in extreme time of need.

But instead, the Dems are basically trying to hold Trump & Congress hostage by adding on laws and regulations to this bill that are completely unrelated to the virus's impact on the economy.
This thing is going to wreck more than just the economy. I’m not a fan of of some of the things they’re trying to add to it, but the economy is not the only thing that’s going to need addressing in the aftermath of this thing.

The bill is basically forking over nearly have a trillion dollars with little to no oversight.
I dislike most democrats as much as the next guy, but from what I'm reading, there's no real structure to how the funds are to be dispersed without executives or big corporations taking advantage of it.
On the flip side, Pelosi and crew are trying to sneak Plant Parenthood funding into the bill.
Dems are scum for trying to add pork to a bill during a crisis and Reps need to ensure damn near half a trillion dollars of OUR money is dispersed properly and responsibly.

:kige:
It needs to go to those who are losing their jobs or getting furloughed. Not sure how you track that but I'm sure our gazillion government workers can figure it out.

It a loan, not a gift. And there were stipulations that it couldn't be used on stock buybacks, executive compensation and had some language about not laying off employees I believe.
We will need businesses like airlines when this is over with whether we like this or not.
If I'm not mistaken, the small business loans can be completely forgiven in most cases.
I haven't read the whole bill or close to it. Just parts of it.

Please read the bill and not listen to what mongoloidish waterheads are saying about it.
FROM THE TEXT OF THE BILL:
quote:
Direct Lending Limitations: executive total compensation may not exceed $425,000; prohibition of stock buybacks during the duration of the loan; borrowers must maintain existing payroll as of March 13.
Furthermore, PELOSI'S BILL INCLUDES THE EXACT SAME LANGUAGE. JUST A SMALLER AMOUNT.

And in the past the reams of paperwork required to actually get the $$ is astounding.
After every natural disaster BILLIONS of dollars are allocated, there are also so many strings attached that BILLIONS of dollar remain unspent after Katrina and Rita as an example.
Granted this is different since the shutdown has been requested of not ordered in some cases. AND it is an election year so the people that can vote the $$ have to face the voters if they dont

What I read was the SBA loans/grants would be fast tracked and most would be forgiven. Obviously, we the tax payers would eat these.
The loans to large corporations would have to be paid back. Not you specifically, but I know some people seem to have difficulty grasping how airlines, hotels, rental car companies etc are vital to a functioning economy.

frick them all. Wish we were able to oust all of the politicians at one time on Election Day instead of having their terms staggered. It completely prevents any real shite from getting done by either side. The citizens have no real power or else the politicians would actually care what the average American thought.

Both sides need to be replaced - ALL of them. Corrupt and owned by lobbyists.
Posted on 3/23/20 at 11:25 pm to Ba Ba Boooey
Start voting against incumbents. Every election. It doesn’t matter if they’re actually good. Odds are they’re self-serving, and should be replaced. Vote against all incumbents and let’s take our chances with new blood. Both parties.

I stand corrected. I read some more articles and apparently Pelosi has interjected herself into the Dem Senate negotiations. The Repubs want to give the corporations carte Blanche on spending stimulus. That didn’t go over well the last time(2008). Dems are countering with multiple unrelated political demands. Vote against all incumbents! We need complete turnover in political leadership.
