so that's why you're such an ornery a-hole on TD

Nah I'll still smoke a cigar and it doesn't do the same thing. I think it's because you don't inhale it.

I quit 24 years ago, also cold turkey after smoking off and on for many years.
I turned 50 in 02 and decided enough was enough. Prices for cigarettes were going up all the time and when I did decide to quit I was smoking between 1 1/2 to 2 packs a day and that was insane to me.
The only time it hit me was the first few weeks when I went to the local watering holes for darts or pool with friends. Most of them smoked and of course drank at the bars and that was one of my triggers------a few beers and smoking kind of went hand in hand, but I didn't falter.
I now have absolutely no desire to smoke and find it pretty offensive to be around smokers, and that makes it hard for me since my wife still smokes and I hate that she does. But I know the only way she'll quit is if she really wants to and not because I'd rather she did.

America was a better place when all the men smoked

I’ve read some of your posts. You need a cigarette time to time.
Kidding! Congratulations. That’s not easy and what a great change for your health these last 20 years. Just think of the $ you HAVE and the significant health problems you DO NOT HAVE as a result.
Well done!
