nope

since you exposed the company to all sorts of risk as a result, particularly if you were in an accident during this time period.
not in LA

Maybe don’t make yourself so replaceable.

I’m confused. What risk?
SFP just posted the ruling that he didn’t expose the company to all sorts of risk and insurance would cover any accident.
I saw the post after I posted, it appears that insurance will certainly cover liability up to the limits of the policy. I'm no lawyer but I am uncertain if the language indicates that the holder of the policy must knowingly allowed an unlicensed driver to use the vehicle or if simply allow a person who may be uninsured unknown to them. But outside the insurance limits, the company would still be on the hook.
Additionally, I am uncertain if there may be some DOT related or other fines that could be imposed on the company (I would think not for a sales person). with the Gordon McKernan's of the world, almost anything like this adds exposure. And if his travels takes him into neighboring states, not sure how those laws will work.
Lastly, from a financial point of view, I doubt that particular ruling covers the company vehicle itself, only third party liability, I could be wrong.

This may be true and if so that is fricked up.

you think a non-suspended license changes this?

why would it change? the court said that it's against public policy to deny insurance coverage to a driver with a suspended license

Instead of the asking for license and registration, he asked if I was Mr. Mtntiger. I said yes

Exactly. It’s not like he was driving company vehicles drunk

it's not really fricked up. i think we all agree that had they known, he wouldn't have been given permission. that's all that i was saying
again, a suspended license is not this big deal. i have no idea why people are trying to conflate it with some terrible crime
shite happens all the time and often is b/c of some communication issue with a court

Apparently they really frown upon driving company trucks with a suspended license THREE YEARS AGO.
So you drove a company truck with a suspended license three years ago, they found out and fired you? I guess two questions would be: for how long and how many times? What did you frick up recently?

I wouldn’t say that if you saw 10 guys with suspended licenses, the majority would be upstanding citizens with court oopsies.
Anecdotal I know, but almost every car stopped on livePD is a suspended license with meth in the car.

Why didn’t you ask for a hardship while your license was suspended?
Did you know you were driving a company vehicle with a suspended license?
I had a suspended license for 6!months when I was 20 years old for a DUI. I was still allowed to drive my company truck during working hours but not my own vehicle

You posted clear facts from the Louisiana Supreme Court and these retards will still argue with you.
Never change OT.

True, he got that out of his system three years prior.
Who the hell goes three years without trying to rectify that?

I saw what you posted, it looks to my non lawyer eyes like a synopsis of a ruling in a particular case. Could the specifics involved actually imply that this only applies to certain criteria? I am honestly asking because it seems somehow wrong to expect an insurance company to cover an unlicensed driver in at least some of those events, though I guess the company could sue the driver for their losses?
And really, thanks for the info, it is honestly very interesting

He hauled arse because he knew he would have to explain the suspension.
