And thanks for proving my point about how fricking corporate the world is now.

Reminds me of Lumberg’s speech in Office Space: “Whatever you do, ask yourself, is this good for the company?”

I’m getting it done now. At the time I just didn’t have the money. I was stupid. I should have done it a year ago.

The original DUI, was it thrown out, not guilty, or did you get an 893?
Did you refuse to blow?

Why was there a suspension and no hardship, etc?

I was just thinking about that when you posted

We really should not have the one group of people who benefit directly from excessive and ridiculous laws and regulations being on the books in charge of passing said laws and regulations.

It’s a racket

Props for owning your mistake but as you say this is on you. Your company should have done a more thorough background check on you but you can't expect your boss to take ownership of your past mistakes.

Learn from it and move on.

my company does a post hire check as well, if they find things that were falsified during the interview process, things they may have let you slide on had you been upfront about with them from the start, can still get you terminated, definitely something to remember

Similar incident happened to me. I get a ticket for a 64 in a 50. I pay said ticket. I got another going 79 in a 70. I pay that one also. Two months later I get a letter from the Mississippi DMV saying my license will be suspended in two weeks for two tickets 15 MPH over the speed limit within a six month period. Thing is both of mine weren't. Some dumbarse entered the wrong number. Called the court got it fixed, but some dumbarse in Jackson never entered the new info. When I went to get my license renewed about a year later they said it was suspended, and I had to pay $25 dollars to get it fixed. I didn't even argue, but I guess if I'd gotten pulled over they'd arrested me which could've caused me major problems just because some idiot can't do their job right.

This all can’t be true. I keep hearing how people’s companies are so great and they care about them. So much for 28 years of service. My dad got canned after 36 at his company. It’s all bullshite. Your company doesn’t give 2 shits about you or any other employees, no matter what, unless they share the same last name. Get wise and quit pouring all your energy to make someone else wealthy and start a business.

Hate that this happened to you, man. The only advice I can give is to take a few days to clear this out of your head and move on with your life. This kind of thing seems like a big deal at the time, but in the scheme of your life, it really doesn't mean shite. Don't even look back...

Only pieces of shite get their license suspended.

My ex wife quit paying the insurance on my truck when she started having an affair. My DL was suspended without my knowing. In fact, I never knew about it until I kicked her arse out and began paying the bills myself.

So how does this make me a POS?

I agree. Saw a co-worker get fired earlier this year for nothing. I mean, this was as stand up and hard working as you get. We got a new boss a year or so ago and come to find out the guy he fired got that same job over his brother 6 years earlier. That's the world we live in.

Apparently they really frown upon driving company trucks with a suspended license THREE YEARS AGO.

Did they not know and just found out?
