Years ago, I worked with a guy with first name of "Ambush". He said his name was supposed to be "Ambrose". Either his mom/dad didn't make it clear or the hospital staff just screwed it up. Might be a common name in today's world.

I worked with a Cambodian dude name Phuk at Pizza Hut back in the 90s. The manager who was supposed to conduct his interview didn't show up so the assistant mgr hired him. He showed up for his first shift and the no-show manager was there... she said, "How do you pronounce your name, Fouk?" and he said with an Asian accent, "No, frick!""

I've worked with an Adolph and a Benito. There was a Joseph too at the same time, but that's too common.

Benito went by "Ben," but Adolph was Adolph. I never got used to saying it.

A girl from India was assigned to work for me who had the last name Shitole.

I couldn't bring myself to ask her to pronounce it for me, so I ask another Indian guy who worked for me. It is pronounced like it looks. He told me there were a lot of Shitoles in India. I told him that I assumed that was true.
