I think college football and drinking is perfect, I just want to pay for as much as a I can. I guess I can just open a tab at a bar downtown, I just don't know anything about downtown Baton Rouge.

are you sure you were a best man and not the maid of honor? what do you do? go buy beer for the room...and you're done.

Pick up tux, go buy belt, round up drunk hungover groomsmen, make sure everybody gets where they need to go, keep groom straight and calm. There is a lot to this.

Les, I don't call being forced to sit around with a bunch of people you hardly half arse know fun. The groom isn't even there hardly in my experience, running around doing shite last minute.

like i said, if you dont know the other people, i could see it. Ive been in 1 wedding like that as an usher, basically because i was forced to.

but every other wedding ive been in, all the friends/family come from the same circle. AT this age its hard to get everyone together at the same time anymore, so it's always been a treat to get together and just bullshite.

and ive never seen the best man have any more responsibilities than anyone else to where he would be stressed out

what is there to do?

took their bags to the hotel, painted up their car and dressed up their hotel room with the MoH, went to go but booze to drink before the ceremony (it was out of town so this was my only opportunity to do so), etc.

dont get me wrong, i had no issue doing any of it, but it can be a busy day.

walk on's is opening the half court location in the fall. that may be a good spot just because they should have decent TV's to watch.

My last wedding was in April as best man. I had to entertain two autistic brothers of the bride tell bad Family Guy impressions and knock knock jokes. Maybe I'm a little jaded.

I will have my three best friends, my brother who I am extremely close with and a cousin who I am close with in my wedding. I love hanging out with them and would be pretty pumped to have a day playing washers and drinking beer by a pool while football is on.

when you are in a town you arent familiar with and you basically have a countdown clock, it can be stressful.

Are they all handicapped? They are just trickling in on Friday and checking themselves into the hotel? Why would you handle their bags?

Painted their car and dressed up hotel room? We don't need or want any of that. And if we did, we hired a wedding planner for shite like that.

Buy the booze? Wedding planner and her army of count assistants.

Oh yeah, my last one I had to go pick up and bring back tuxes that needed alterations last minute in NOLA. The find a belt last minute from somewhere I have no idea where to even look. I never get stuck with playing washers and watching TV.

they stayed in relatives houses the night before. i checked them in to their wedding suite the day of their wedding. is this that odd?

but there are weddings where it may not be as stressful.

i was in one last may in FL where the wedding party (sans the groom and BM) just went to hooters and drank for 4 hours before the ceremony.
