I have LNG plumbed to my patio but have never hooked the grill up to it as I'm worried it will be too close to the siding and melt it.

Yeah, I would definitely roll the grill out away from the wall and out from under the overhang. I had them pour the patio out 4 feet from where it was supposed to end so I could do just that. Like I said, the Weber site says it comes with a 10 ft hose. So I'm thinking I would be able to roll it out where I want to.

I paid 300 for a Weber Silver about 15 years ago and replaced the guts last year and it's still going. It was worth every penny of the initial price I paid and the 125 I paid for new stainless guts.

I've been looking at BGEs and am really leaning towards getting one but I want to redo my back deck first and do it built in.

I've had my Weber Silver for 14 years. It has sat under a cover on our back deck the entire time and is used quite heavily summer and winter. (I am in KY) I have only replaced the flavorizer bars twice in that time frame and I clean the gas ports out every year...but it is still going strong.

My next grill...whenever that will be...will be a Weber.

The Weber Q 3200 has 468 sq. in. of cooking area. It is $400. That is more than enough room for all but the largest of BBQs.

Let me clarify, on the cheaper grills that people say are rusting out. Put a cover on the stainless grills. Lot's of moisture in the air in LA if you don't have a cover your an idiot

You think the air under the cover doesn't have moisture in it? You could argue putting a cover over them is actually worse at certain times of the year if you want to keep them dry as it pertains to dew point.

I've had two big Brinkmans. One lasted about 4 years, other lasted about 5 years. Always kept them under the cover of a porch and covered as well. Always cleaned it after i used them. Bottom rusted out of both of them and i used them for probably a year or so longer than i should have b/c they were falling apart but i didn't want to get a new one.

Sure as hell not going to drop $800 on a gas grill, unless i could store it in a garage, which i don't have.

I'm cutting a keg currently and converting it to a gas grill. It's cheap and i figured it should last long being stainless and if it doesn't, at least i didn't drop a lot of money on it.

We are talking about those $300 stainless steel grills from Char-Broil and others. They rust out inside of a couple of years even with a cover and you can't spray paint the stainless steel. Even with a cover on the grill the humidity in the air will still get to the grill. The burners are also trashed within a couple of years use as well.

They have a few different stainless steel protective coatings you can apply to fix that problem. Same point as my previous post. Some people just would rather not take the time to do stuff to protect their investments.

Never said it didn't but the cover minimizes it at least from my experience. I had a smoker with no cover out for 2 days and it already showed signs of rust vs a cover on my actual bbq pit and I still have no issues. Maybe the coating on them are different I'm not sure.

Bought one ten years ago after replacing grills every few yrs.

If my Brinkmann lasts 5 years at $380 (5 burners and a sear burner), I can buy two more and break even with what a equal sized Weber would have cost me. Worth the roll of the dice for me. Besides, my grill's bottom removes like a tray, so I'm not worried about it rusting out. Pull out, wipe down, slide back in. See rust developing, sand, spray, slide back in.

IMHO, the things I need most for grilling are space, multiple burners for temp control, and a good digital thermometer.

I've had mine for 5 years so far. Where did you buy the replacement grates from - my grate is getting pretty thin?

I bought a Ducane three years ago, and it's been awesome. Salesman at lowes informed me that they use the same burners as Weber ' s, just cheaper materials in the frame and lid. I would highly recommend it.

Not for me. You can't adjust the temperature and if you want to cook at high heat for steaks, burgers, etc then you are SOL. My father in law has one and the times I've used it it's frustrating if you're trying to cook anything but chicken.

I'd rather have a Weber.
