You guys have more of a hail threat overnight Friday and into early Saturday morning. Should just be heavy rain for most of the DFW area but the hail risk will be there.

Every fricking weekend there has been hail. Not even being facetious about it. So over it lol.

I would be too. Gotta love that warm gulf layer that blankets my arse in BR.

Unless the forecast has a big timing shift, yes the risk will be out of your area for the afternoon.

How does this look as it goes through north Texas/DFW? I assume it will be late Friday night/early Saturday morning?

Tornado threat depends on surface low track along warm front on Saturday but it should be just SE of DFW. As Duke mentioned, hail will be the primary threat with very steep lapse rates overnight and through most of Saturday. There could be multiple rounds of hailers moving through DFW.

Yes though, a southeast tornado threat with this much moisture at play is likely to produce rain wrapped tornadoes. Just keep an ear out rout for warnings and watch the radar to know if you need to get to your safe space.

A bunch of my storm chasing buddies are headed here and bitchin all the way. They hate chasing in the jungle. It does look at this time that any storm that can form ahead of the line will go super cellular and rotate. We will see many tornado warnings that are radar indicated Saturday. Hopefully we won't have many confirmed. But a great chance for some very strong tors.

Ha. Been seeing a lot of that on wxtwitter today. Dixie Alley chasing is the worst. Trees. Hills. HP supercells.

Odds look good those will form too. Hopefully too many of them do and interfere with each other. Good enough instability could actually help since we don't do strong caps around here.

What’s it look like for the western MS delta particularly Sunflower/Humphreys county?

You're in the shite too. A later start may help in not having maximum heating available but you're still in for bad weather.

Heh, I'd be doing this anyway somewhere. Just glad my nerd outs might help inform some people.

Any familiarity with "FullTilt Weather"?

Never heard of them but I've seen several Facebook friends sharing this post that seems light on specifics and big on drumming up hysterics.

quote:

This is an outlook for Saturday.

This appears to be a very dangerous day. Even possibly the most dangerous day of the whole year .

Primary hazard large hail up to 3 and a 1/2 and above .
[ Large tornado threat. In this environment it is possible they could get as big as a mile and a 1/2 to 2 miles wide. ] In less something something drastically changes between now and then this will more than likely activate a PDS watch. ( Particularly dangerous situation) With a life threatening warning appearing on these cells.
Far Eastern Texas into central Louisiana. Including Northeastern Arkansas. Appear to have a very violent situation occurring Saturday.

18z NAM is running now, but it's crazy how it blows up seeming out of no where on the 12z run.

Dont know much about them.

That statement is full of hype though. Talking wedges and giant hail and shite.

ETa: it's not impossible but throwing up the most extreme potential is fishing for clicks.

This stuff isn’t looking good for a flight from ATL to LFT Saturday night...unless the worst of it stays north of LFT, and then they could approach from the south?
