I’d rather get skin cancer than wear a shirt in the pool, be gay, and die of AIDS.

When I was younger I never really got sunburned but for some reason as soon as I hit 30 I found myself getting burned fairly easily when at the beach/lake/river. I started wearing the Columbia long sleeve shirts and don't plan on stopping. Wouldn't wanna risk burning up my belly!

I’m fat and never had nor will wear nor do I need to wear a rash guard. What the frick does being fat have in common with your poor millennial pale skin that can’t take the sun?

Same here. My mom has had spots removed her entire life. She is red-hair, fair skin. My daughter is the same way. Very red hair and VERY fair skin.

For what it's worth, I've been fair skinned all of my life as well (38 now). That combined with my family's history I've always worn a ton of sunscreen and worn rash guards of some form. Always wear a wide-rimmed hat to the beach.

I also have better quality skin and far, far less wrinkles because I protected my skin all that time. Also didn't use a tanning bed religiously in my teens like many friends did. I have several friends my age who are dealing with skin cancer now as a result. I hated it at the time because of being so fair skinned, but super super grateful I took precautions all of those years.

I wear a rash guard when doing no-gi BJJ to obviously not get rash burns from the mat and Lord those things are hot. I know I am doing some high intensity cardio but we train in AC and I sweat like a rented plow mule in those things to the point I almost say frick it and don't wear it.

I could only imagine how hot those would be in the sun. I would just get a regular lightweight sunblock shirt if I wanted sun protection.

Magellan brand at Academy are good too. I wear them when I go kayaking. Super light, breathable and comfortable. Think they're $20

I do apply 50 in the AM before I head out to the beach, but find it easier to just put on a shirt until I head back to condo.

My favorite mantra is Fry now Pay later.

I didn’t know those shirts people wear at the pool were called a rash guard I thought this was about wrist guards or something.

I don’t wear a shirt at the pool, but I am pretty religious about sunscreen. And I stay under an umbrella at the beach. Although I’ve been to the beach 2 times in the past 9 years so

Are the Columbia shirts hot to wear out in the sun? I went up to Bass Pro at lunch and got 2 of them.
