Exactly. If an 89 year old with Parkinson's is ready to go its more inhumane to not allow him medically assisted suicide.
What is the argument against it?

Because sometimes people will change their minds. Usually people who are seeking to commit suicide aren't in their right mind (obviously). It would be no more legitimate than getting someone with alzheimers to change their will.
There are plenty of stories of failed suicides where people later regret the act.

Parkinson's pretty much says it all.

Okay...so you put processes in place that state someone that wants to do this has to be cleared by another medical profession that they are of sound mind.
I'm not saying this gets done because some poor dude lost his job, wife, house, and sees no other option.
This would be for those with terminal illnesses that don't want to suffer or have their families see them deteriorate.

That doesn't mean it shouldn't exist.
There's plenty of failed marriages, should we not have those?

"Pathetic. Instead of going out humanely, he was scattered all over a NYC street."
"and was found in the courtyard of the luxury Upper East Side building between 65th and 66th streets"
Apparently it was two streets

Surprised they didn't claim him being at the DC rally.

Eyewitnesses state that he really stuck the landing.

Damn, the NY Post doesn’t sugar-coat anything.

Why would I make a doctor do that when I can just shoot myself?
Doctors are trained to keep people alive. Why must we always try to turn them into executioners, cannabis-dispensers, etc.?
Leonard McCoy had a saying...

Someone feeble enough to need the service would very likely be unable to manage it themself.
Studies have sHown that having the option gives people peace of mind even if they never use it. If I know I can take a pill if it gets too bad maybe I won't throw myself off a building before I'm too frail to do it myself

He should have gone out with cocaine or heroine. Bad decision
