Have no sympathy for the employees. When I go to smoothie king I specifically say I can't have any eggs or dairy. Not sure why it needs to be said when ordering a vegan smoothie myself but I do it anyways. And how do they know exactly he didn't mention the allergy? As if it mattered whatsoever. What if his son had died?
Problem is everyone is a fricking idiot whi doesn't give a shite about their jobs anymore and this is the result. Trust no one.

Buy a fricking blender and stay at home making your kid’s smoothies if it’s that fricking dangerous.

Kept it real. Went wrong.

Best smoothie in the world is not worth putting life in a HS kids’ hands…Merrill Lynch-hole’s judgment is 2nd worst part of this story.

I still don't know what he ordered. If he ordered something strawberry, why would he demand, "no peanut butter"? If he ordered something that routinely came with peanut butter but he wanted it skipped, then he's an idiot, too. Order something less risky!

Why the hell would you go somewhere they are constantly mixing ingredients together in the same area with a severe allergy?

I have a kid that had an identified allergy to dairy, eggs, and wheat at a very early age (<1). These will cause anaphylaxis and we carry an epi len for her.
I can tell you that we don’t trust anyone to prepare her food. There’s all sorts of shite you would never think have allergens. For example, wheat is commonly in soy sauce. You become an intense label reader.
I don’t blame the father for being somewhat frustrated or upset. For parents who have had to ensure numerous hospital visits, it can be intensely deflating and stressful.
Just a shitty situation all the way around.

This is definitely Cathie Wood's fault. I'm cutting him some slack.

Is he supposed to make it for the fricking idiots?
He's supposed to make the smoothie himself if it's that serious of an allergy. He went into a store staffed by high schoolers and expected directions to be followed and then acted an arse when it put his son in the hospital. He is just as much of an idiot as they are.

My takeaway here is peanut butter in a smoothie sounds frickin gross

Smoothies are trashy.

You should.
If your child has an allergy that can kill them you should personally prepare their food.
Hate immigrants? Don't trust high school kids? Maybe don't expect them to do your parenting for you.

I still don't see what he did wrong.

Yes, this minimum wage idiot could have killed his son. No need to be upset.
I would have went to jail too. Peanut allergies can kill in minutes.
my oldest 2 have severe nut and shell fish allergies.....
but this is stupid. yes they can die, but that is on the fricking parent. teach the kids to ask and pretty much stick to places you know will accomodate you and carry your damn epi pen.
stop trying to take up for the shitty parent. my damn 9 year old has known since he was 5 to ask....does this have anything with nuts in it or could it possible have them.
this is 100% on the dad. he should have told them about the allergy and asked they wash the equipment and be mindful.
