I’d say it was the 1950s and it’s been a decline since the 1960s. Feminism and divorce rates have wrecked the family from the 1960s and on.

That’s true for most cities. For one reason. After gangster rap became popular, that was all she wrote.

Less about gangster rap and more about the CIA flooding the country with (rock)cocaine. Gangster rap was a byproduct of the crack era.

Growing up in the 90s for me was great and all, but I always think about how great it was in the 60s, 70s, or 80s.

Most of the ‘90s were pretty good too.

80’s definitely.

Great era to experience.

It was a defining decade for me. College, meeting my wife, our first two children being born.

It was more joyful and fun than the 60's, 70's or 90's. The 80's were Duran Duran. The 90's were Nirvana. Great decade for college football.

Man...I had a freaking blast in the 80's..It really was peak. If only we could go back to the greatness that was the version of the USA... !
And before the board commies, poo poo on this period as being a racist homophobe, utopia, if you knew how many gay people were in that video that were loved and praised, and everybody knew exactly who and what they were, and nobody cared, you can go f*** right off. Oh, and blacks and whites actually got along back then before Obama wrecked shop.

I think it's simply about the attitude of the country, and the President plays a big role in that.

Eisenhower in the 50's; we had whipped the world and were invincible. Everybody got on board.

Reagan in the 80's; brought back American pride and dominance. Everybody got on board.

Today, we are so split it seems we may never get everyone pulling in one direction again.

This is correct, but I hope we can stay stable long enough to keep the ship afloat until a new generation of young hungry patriots are born willing to fight for a return. I hope we pick up where we went wrong and far surpass that sweet but old dry high water mark we left on the hill in 1985. We refurbished the Statue of Liberty with PENNIES for God's sake. We got this.

Was actually talking about this with my siblings yesterday. I was born in the 80's but most of my entertainment (movies, music, etc) is from the 80's.

One my siblings said it best "nobody was embarrassed in the 80's"

The music, clothes, and just general aesthetics of the 80's was so wild and seemed to come out of nowhere.
