It's not that she is smart enough. She is too busy working hard and accomplishing great things to MBRGA.

I hope more people sign it. If you haven’t and you’re on the fence, go sign it. You should be suspicious of people scared to put something to a vote.

I hope you’re kidding. While Broome is probably exponentially more intelligent than Chauna Banks or Gravy Chambers, a lot of this BS started when she took office.

You are correct in saying the council is retarded. You are wrong thinking Broome is not. She is also too stupid to stay away from the council.

Broome and Fat Gary will be the leaders responsible for City of St George. That is what’s retarded.

You St. George hopefuls should just move to Livingston Parish, because that’s what you’re acting like...

Lol it’s almost like you don’t understand that st George passing would help stem the now 2 decade old outflow of the middle class out of EBR and into AP and LP.

Why do you want the tax base to leave the parish? They’re trying to make a viable alternative IN the parish. What you’re asking would hasten the already quick decline of EBR

It's going to happen this time. They want Central v2.0 in the south.

Your comment makes you sound racist and ignorant. Sounds like your jealous of people wanting to improve themselves and their area.

A side note- I still find it funny that all these groups are “one Baton Rouge” or “better together.” That’s our education system right there. These areas looking to form St. George are not even apart of Baton Rouge. The only thing I can think is that they might be worried some actual Baton Rouge areas will break away to StG. That’s giving them too much credit though.

I signed it. Twice.

How much is Together BR paying the goon of a woman to badmouth SG like she did last night on WBRZ? She will not shut up with the "these citizens who want SG deserve to know better..." drivel.

Still waiting to hear them come out against the NAACP's call to split up the city-parish government. I'm sure they're getting around to it...

I haven't been keeping up with this story too closely.

Do the BR people here that don't live within that proposed area support this, or is it only the people in that area?

I'd imagine they wouldn't want it to happen even if they live in a nice area in BR b/c it means a large tax base leaving. Am I right?

It will be better than Central. Central has become a total shite show in 10 years with the horrible politicians they keep electing.

Many don't care, but some are against it.
If they fear losing the tax dollars, that is terribly uninformed. They would only "lose" a 2% sales tax that originates in that area. The St George folks just want to keep those 2% taxes there to be better spent on their area.

The eventual goal is to form their own school district separate from the dumpster known as EBRPSS.
THAT is what some of the BR folks are totally against. They won't have anywhere to ship their problems anymore, and will look much worse by comparison when a school system of Zachary's quality is available a few miles away. Worst of all: that will shine a light on some of the extremely underperforming and/or lazy East Baton Rouge Parish School System employees.

We can't have those folks lose their job over something so trivial as our children's educational career.
