Brooks is stupid regardless of what he says. He is frustrated that the witnesses do not remember what they said at the time of an interview with law enforcement. He thinks the prosecution is doing something to have these witnesses not remember. He doesn't know how to refresh their memories. He should have had an attorney.

He is mad because the prosecution is not crossing his witnesses. This is laughable.

Not going to accuse you of white knighting for him...

Just gonna say that it's on Brooks to know what the witness is going to say on the stand and call those he knows he'll get honest & beneficial testimony

His public defender would've known this

ETA: the public defender would also know how to properly impeach an uncooperative witness

Absolutely. This was probably Brooks' best witness since his statement at the time described someone driving the vehicle who didn't match his description so I understand why he called him. You're right though, an actual attorney would've been directed that testimony much better, such as only asking if he gave a statement and if he disputed that is what he said at the time, etc...

ETA: As I've said all along, Brooks is a piece of trash who deserves death. I just hate how that played out because I think he was lying about not recalling and I wouldn't want that to happen to someone I know.

He's the type who believes he's always right and anyone trying to prove him wrong is just trying to destroy him.

Judge needs to quit being a pushover

that shite he just pulled with the stare down was ridiculous -

Cannot wait until the guilty verdict is read after the jury deliberates for every bit of 30 seconds.

frick this piece of shite.

She just admitted she's scared of him.

She needs to recuse herself.

This psycho clearly has severe anger issues that he can't control.

I'm on the fence regarding how this judge is handling him. On one hand, I wish she would just remove him to the other room permanently or require him to have counsel. I understand why she's handling the situation with kid gloves (mitigate grounds for appeal), but at a point, it becomes prejudicial to the prosecution by letting him control the flow of the proceedings.

I highly doubt it matters in the long run.

The mean mugging makes me laugh. The man is shackled to the table with ankle shocks on and cops throughout the room. He can't do anything so the fact that the judge gets intimidated by it does make me laugh and also disappointed at the same time.

The Judge is showing incredible restraint through this. I don't believe she's a pushover at all. She can see through what Brooks is doing - he's been trying to bait her into exploding on him for the last few weeks - and as soon as she does, he'll use that as a basis for an appeal.

He’s a feral dog that will only respond to the whip. This judge thinks being nice and civilized will get him to respond in kind, but he is just walking all over her. It is a pathetic display of justice to say this piece of shite is scaring the judge.

Not sure what he was actually convicted on for that... but it's indirectly on the record in this trial that a 23 year old Brooks impregnated a 15 year old Erika Patterson

She doesn't have to explode on him. She can keep him in the other courtroom and keep him muted or bind and gag his arse.

She handled his behavior and outbursts extremely poorly. But recuse herself...??? I think that is a stretch.

Nah. this mojo is hanging himself in front of a jury. searching for a technicality that he can, and likely will, build an appeal on. which will also be unsuccessful & be nothing more than attention that this sociopath craves.

I wish Wisconsin had the death penalty. otherwise, lock this piece of garbage in the depths of a prison & be done with it. I truly hope this racist bag of shite gets arse raped in prison on a daily basis for what he did to those poor people.

The problem with the gag is that he's representing himself so he needs the opportunity to question witnesses

That would also help his appeal. She's got to keep him in the courtroom and engaged as much as possible to minimize appellate issues.
