All those. But pine cone war was legit. One day we were playing that and I threw a cone that didn't open yet. Hit a girl square in the jaw because my target moved.

Wall ball (with tennis balls) - damn it was fun to peg the shite out of someone trying to run to the wall before the ball got there.

Wall Ball was a personal favorite. And its violent cousin, Pain Ball.

We called SMQ Kill the Man with Ball. I destroyed this kids face playing it once. I turned his nose to mush. Felt terrible for a while, but then he slept at my house and it was all good.

We also used to play a game we called Hail Mary. One dude would stand about 20 yards from the rest and punt a ball. If you caught the ball you became the kicker. If nobody caught it the guy kicked again. Many people had their legs cut out from under them playing that game.

Wall ball was my jam. Especially when you played with firing squad rules.

We had a sub PE teacher for a while. She put out a box of PE equipment and told us to make up a game. We invented bean bags vs tennis balls. Every kid got one or the other the object was if you had a tennis ball you tried to take the bean bag from be bean bag kids and vice versa. The team that had the most of the others balls or bags was the winner.

Sounds dirty...

My favorites were probably four square or putout (or knockout for those that didn't call it putout like we did).

Wall ball

Then there's the variations of White Line and Kill Ball. Our school had the baseball diamonds painted on the ground so there was a white line about 12 feet from the wall. If you had to touch the wall you could get pegged with the ball if you were caught between the line and the wall. Then kill ball was just straight up open season on whoever had to touch the wall no matter where you were.

our rainy weather / inside game of choice throughout much of elementary school was a game called "silent ball". Of course, thinking back on it...it seems like teachers (no pics) used to make up games that had "quiet" rules in order to keep the kids from being loud and rowdy. Pretty brilliant looking back.

Silent ball consisted of everyone spreading out around the class room. We had a kick ball and would throw it around. The goal was to be the last person standing, and you were eliminated if you either talked or if you touched the ball but didn't catch it when someone threw it to you. I actually can't believe we played this game inside, but it was a hell of a good time.

Crack the Whip.

We always put the lightest or smallest kid at the end so we could watch him or her fly.

We had big oak trees at our elementary. Sling shots and acorns wars was the tits. It got real interesting when wrist rockets started showing up. Serious amounts of welts were produced until one kid got nailed in the eye. You know what they say, the good have to suffer for the blind.

We also did that silly game where you make the OK symbol with your fingers and the other person can't get caught looking at it. Or if they do, they have to try and insert their finger inside. Anyone remember that shite?

Circle dodge, and it's come back around. My high school daughter says they still play that.
