The chick that wrote this article is an idiot. She’s a local republican sky screamer. Haven’t seen gas out anywhere. Paid $4.95 for regular across i5 from Auburn a couple hours ago.

Those things aren't mutually exclusive. The reprogramming could be happening with gas still being around $5.

If you read the article it's because they sell 100 octane race gas because they are close to a race track. Not because they think regular gas will reach 10 dollars a gallon.
