I joke (poorly) but as someone that has had multiple concussions I do worry. Has anyone ever scheduled a brain ct? Any experiences with confirmed cte?

I played football only through high school, fullback, but had an mri and has lesions in my pituitary gland. Dr seemed worried but neurologist just told me to quit eating tomatoes lol. Not sure what CTE looks like compared to the lesions they saw in mine.

ETA: I did a second neurologist who seemed to take it much more serious

I had several of them a few years ago but I don't recall the results.

There’s a case to be made that today’s athlete is bigger, stronger, faster. Maybe to save football we ban the bigger, stronger, faster segment of society from playing. Slow it down to the speed our grandfathers and great grandfathers enjoyed.

Yes, if we have slow, awkward nerds play the game, fans can keep their beloved pastime.

Eventually the bubble is going to burst on the NFL. The TV contracts are unsustainable over a long time period.

I smoked weed and now I have the brain of a man in the '60s.

You and me both. The brain of a 60 year old, the knowledge of an 18 year old, and the maturity of a 5 year old.

but the problem is these people are suing, so the league is forced to make these rules. And apublic "you get paid to get, dont bitch" won't fly.

Football is a brutal sport but I’m skeptical a college QB has suffered so much brain damage that he killed himself.

I have my doubts as well. How exactly do they determine its similar to that of a 60 year old? A normal 60 year old? A normal 60 year old has CTE? This sounds like exaggeration to grab attention.

Plenty of other 21 year olds commit suicide without CTE. You can't possibly know that was the cause on someone at the age where mental illness most often begins to manifest.

60 year old men are more successful at suicide but I don't think they attempt more than a youngster.

Doesn’t Washington St already have the highest suicide rate in the country?

Money will keep it alive, but it will be diminished as fewer kids play. Peewee leagues will die out, even though football is probably pretty safe at that age Bc kids aren’t fast enough to hurt each other. Then high schools will suffer. Either for lack of players or, if threatened by lawsuits, schools will simply stop fielding teams. Big time Colleges and NFL make too much money to stop, but the games may be changed drastically. Kickoffs will be eliminated soon.

What part of his depression contributed to the suicide?

It seems as if they're putting all the blame on CTE when it may not have had any impact at all.

No way to know
