My grandparents lived to be in their 80s and none of them killed themselves

Damn I saw LCA posting in the lunch thread today. He has a brain of someone in their 60s. It could have been him.

I joke (poorly) but as someone that has had multiple concussions I do worry. Has anyone ever scheduled a brain ct? Any experiences with confirmed cte?

We can choose to be in denial if we want but the writing is on the wall for the fate of football

Better get used to 7v7 drills

My cousin has cte and doctors won’t even prescribe him the medicine he needs for it. He goes to lots of doctors and none of them will treat him. It’s really sad how medicine ignores this disease. They must be getting paid off by the nfl

I am sorry. I don't believe this. He was a QB. Not a FB.

I don’t think they can diagnose it unless you’re dead.

Correlation does not equal causation. Maybe he was an old soul.

There are people who are in denial. There was a thread. the other day, talking about kids playing tackle football at an early age.

The earlier someone plays tackle football, the better chance they have of having brain issues (CTE). The brain doesn't fully develop until the age of 24-25 so any type of blows to the head, in the stages of development isn't good.

I am a huge football fan, but I don't think kids should be playing tackle football until they are in 9th grade. They can learn the fundamentals without playing tackle.

It seems like helmets would be spring loaded or something.. There needs to be something that absorbs the energy of a hit to the head.

LINK

Saw this on the 85 bears 30 for 30. Concussion treatment for Jim McMahon. The mri results clearly show increased brain activity. Interesting stuff that they can at least do that

Appears to a modified spine/neuron treatment to get more spinal fluid to the brain as far as I can tell
