I was saved at a young age. I've been married once, got 3 kids and 5 grands. WTF do you think.

Hell, even my 4 muscle cars, 1 race car, and 3 Jeeps comes before something I'm just going to turn to shite.

Not really because if you were around BR and LSU in the early to mid 90's, you would know that Cane's actually stole this idea from a chicken drive-thru hut on Lee. I would argue that place was on par with Cane's, or better if consumed after 2am.

For the life of me I can't remember the name, but Todd 100% stole the concept with a targeted college students' menu only of tenders, fries, toast, sauce and drink.

ETA: My apologies for bursting the Cane's lure and bubble. IYKYK

Meh, I tried it at the original location back when I was in law school around the corner. Probably went there 5-6 times. Or 6-7 as the kids say. Anyway, it wasn’t memorable enough to register “first time.”

I remember visiting friends at LSU, and they were talking this place up. I went in, and all they had to order were chicken fingers. I though, OK, cool idea. Simple and effective. I tried my order, enjoyed it for what it was, and had no idea it would blow up to what it is today. I still think it's decent but way overhyped

Are you thinking of Bailey’s? Yeah I preferred Baileys to Canes.

Quite possibly. I visited my brother on campus in the fall of '93 and after Murphy's, he took me to that chicken hut somewhere around Lee and Highland intersection. Then it was a routine for us for another year when I would come to town, but somewhere around ''96 I remember him saying it closed but there was a new sheriff in town by the Chimes. Yeah Cane's was better sober I guess, but that other place was pretty damn good and you could clearly see this is the exact concept that Todd lifted and re-engineered,

Bailey's Chicken Fingers by Lee and Highland back in the day was awesome. I argue that the chicken was better and the stoners that worked there always over-served. Had ten fingers in a box several times.

Probably why they are no longer open.

I’ve never eaten Canes. Couldn’t tell you what they taste like.

Mine was at the original on Chimes. Fuzzy memories.

My favorite Cane’s meal was in Fort Collins after a long drive in my truck camper. They opened that day. Or at least the Grand Opening.

Good Lord, how that place stays in business - much less expand nationally - I have no idea. They opened a branch in Royal Palm Beach before I retired. After all the hoopla on here, I decided to give it a shot.

Cold, tasteless chicken that was practically waxy from the congealed grease. Fries were also cold and not good. Easily the worst fast food I've eaten in the last 10 years. I would go to KFC 100 times out of 100 over Canes.

It is fried chicken strips, the most boring food on the planet. There is a reason small children and the mentally deficient go batshit for it.

I do sometimes bc the sauce is borderline keto and if you remove 90% of the breading it's a fun cheat meal without kicking you out too badly.

I know they make "naked" tenders but those suck and are dry AF. So I just grab a ton of napkins and remove most of the breading

Usually I just make a fully keto version at home where I can get the sauce down to 1g of carbs per serving instead of 6.

No, it wasn't.

But when they opened the 1st Raising Cane's in the SLC area (South Jordan), there was a line over a mile long just for the drive through. Had cops there directing traffic for a week.

I did ride by Post Malone's pink RC once. Never stopped.

This entire craze started at Auburn in the 80s at a place called Guthries.
