This one shouldn't be either.

SARS had around 25 cases in the USA, almost all related and traced to one person in NY and immediately contained. Italy had 4. 0 deaths in both countries combined.

We seem to be creeping ever so slightly past those numbers.

Not to me..I had the annual flu shot and kept working. Everyone I knew did the same, no big deal. But, now we have this novel virus without a vaccine, although I did take the annual flu shot for this year. This Covid-19 is a big deal because it spreads so fast, wasn't any vaccine, no cure after you're sick, kills people, and that makes it a big deal for me because, except for being fat, I fit all the other things that means death if I get it.

Here's your data on the three Corona virus outbreaks & maybe an answer to why no one would actually give a frick back then.

2002 SARS-CoV. 37 countries 8,000 cases and almost 774 deaths. 9.6% mortality

2012 MERS-CoV. 27 countries 2,494 cases and 858 deaths 34.4% mortality

2019 SARS-CoV-2 202 countries & 1 international conveyance (Diamond Princess cruise ship) 854,307 cases 42,016 deaths 4.9%

When we reach half that with this virus. We'll talk.

Trump is on TV now. The White House is saying they are projecting something like 100,000 to 240,000 deaths in the U.S. from the coronavirus pandemic if current social distancing guidelines are maintained.

But go ahead and keep sticking your fricking head in the sand and pretend nothing is going on.

Everyone’s favorite whipping boy Bobby Jindal had every agency prepared to the ninth degree for both the H1N1 and 2011 Miss Riv flood. You can book it that shite would be straight for this without having to rely on the feds. He would have had triple contingency plans in place. Say what you want about everything else, the man could prepare for an emergency.

SARS was a very big deal. You couldn't date without a card declaring you SARS free. It was like the new HIV for almost a year. H5N1 was serious.

People weren't on lock down but lots were scared to death of it and people were wearing masks all over the place.

A lot more lethal than Covid 19 if you caught it but not many people got infected.

It put a damper on partying for a while.

That and the US was preoccupied with the impending invasion of Iraq following 9/11.

You clearly hate the guy more than cnn because you believe in the biggest issue of his presidency he is getting up there, lying, and failing in his duty to the American people.

It wasn’t a big deal here because we had like 7 cases.

It was a big deal otherwise and anyone acting like a 10% mortality rate (prob higher) disease that made everyone extremely ill was overblown is an idiot.
