I'm sure there are many good reasons he gave people to hate him, but I would think that if someone saw him raping and killing a dog, they would have called the police and it would have been pretty easy to prove.

I depends on who you talk to. His neighbors, overall, liked him save for the one that shot him. But he was involved in a lot of shady stuff via his towing business and got a lot of favors from the JPSO.

I don't know if this is BS or not, but I was told that Higgins and his family have documented events that Big Lee has done in the past to torment Higgins. Things like Big Lee photographed in the Higgins back yard at 3AM, photo of him taking a shite on the Higgins property, etc.
If this is true and they have a bunch of documented things, Higgins could use it in his defense.
