I hate to be the one to break it to you but this entire country has made a fortune off of cheap Chinese products.

Things will not change as long as the American consumer wants the absolute cheapest price!

We are to quick to blame the corporations but It is the consumer that pushed for lower and lower and lower prices.

There is a lot of truth to that.

Personally, I plan on not buying Chinese crap if at all possible. Hopefully, Trump will punish them and put enough of a tariff on their crap where it is not cheaper than others.

I don’t care about china. I’m boycotting the decision to make people stand in line for an hour to get in the store to buy groceries.

This didn't happen. It's not happening in NOLA, so it certainly isn't happening in whatever Podunk shithole you're in.

A lot of problems where it is hard to for US to compete.

1) China lack of labor laws
2) relaxed on environmental laws
3) relaxed on safety laws

Example metal
To cool the metal in some cases.
In the US you have to treat the water used to cool the metal in versus other countries.

If the products are equal the cost is already higher for the US product in most cases.

Then add other cost and it is hard to compete.

Is it Free Enterprise....or not?

And, for what it’s worth, one of Walmart’s Supplier of the Year awards went to an American manufacturer of TVs. Walmart is actively courting American jobs and manufacturing, but the onus is on the supplier to bring quality + cost.

I waited about five minutes to get in at 6 am this morning. Got TP, lemonade mix, Kleenex, cough syrup, and a roast. Picking up some other things at Sam's at 11am.

We need to get back to corner stores and local businesses and American made products instead of giant corporations setting up shop and selling cheap crap.

Lead the way, dippy.

While we’re at it will we start buying food from family farms? Look around your house. Are you going to stop buying that stuff? Because when you start paying three times the price you will have to stop buying so much.

I already do in every way I can.

I go to a local butcher for meat and a farmers market for veggies.

When I do go to the store I go to the local grocery and buy local products.

I don’t eat at chain restaurants.

I buy all my guns and ammo at my local shop.

I go to local wholesalers for plumbing and electrical and lumber instead of big box.

It’s not hard to support American made and owned and sold products
