My buddy works at Costco meat dept and packs up tiger prawns for me but price it on scale as whole squid.

They sell ribeye steaks at Dollar General!
4 of those equals a 16 oz ribeye for 4 bucks
I wonder how they taste has anyone dared try it?

I think they are like 1/3 liquid.

I don’t use self checkout because I don’t want to put Americans out of a job
My Walmart usually has 3 or 4 employees tending to the self-checkout customers. They’re more active and engaged than some slug standing at a register banging on keys.
WalMart was one of the first places that got rid of the warnings about not bagging something or something unrecognized was bagged when all you did was shift the bags around a little. Great move.

Tell her you are trying to save the planet by conserving paper.
I seriously hate those receipt checkers. Once I swipe my card and complete the transaction that merchandise is mine. If they are concerned that it may have been rung up incorrectly (or falsely) then they need to have cashiers and no self checkout.

Send receipt to dummy email account. If asked at door say phone is in car. Keep walking
They have no more right to look in your bags as they do your wallet. Once you pay, it's yours. Frick the checkers

I did this the other night. She didn't. I felt like an a-hole, but at the same time, don't have me check myself out of you don't trust me to do it right.

I stop and have a little chat about my food choices and how the prices fluctuate. They love me!

It means I'm not getting paid to scan your items I wanted to buy so I might screw up but of course unintentionally

They do have a right to ban you from the store if they so please as long as it is for non-discriminatory reasons.

It's a small hassle, but it should be mandatory at ALL stores to keep people from just walking out with unpaid items! Sams Club is the only place I know of that has always done it and continues to do so. I think it's a great idea to at least diminish theft.

LMAO... It's a set up! The fat lady at exit checking receipts will take you down hard!
Posted on 3/20/23 at 4:43 pm to SmogkDeizKnutz
My new go-to move is to just hand the lady my receipt and keep walking as she stares at it. I never even break stride.

It gives you three options:

I have to imagine theft is through the roof but still considers manageable.
Shoplifting and scamming at self check out is way less damaging than organized cashier rings. Either gift card stealing or under ringing. A shoplifter may hit you for a couple hundred or a couple grand. A cashier ring can get you for $10k-$30k a week, maybe more.

Every transaction is recorded. Even the oil changes and other vehicle services.

Sam’s is members only, you sign a contract, & agree to your items being checked. There is no such agreement with Walmart.

I've always told them "no thank you" when asked for the receipt.
There is no law saying you must show a receipt upon exiting a business premises. The only exceptions are stores where you agree to do so such as Sam's or Costco.
