Walmart isn’t great, but why are some on this board prissy women about going in there?

“I would never dare step into such filth! Only curbside for me!”
Bro, just go grab your mulch from the garden center or get your kid some Capri Suns. Meth head Jerry won’t bite you. Wait till y’all find out about Dollar Generals!

I'm not prissy about going there, but I refuse to go there during peak hours. Too many people, especially this time of year. Having the ability to go buy motor oil, groceries, supplements, shampoo, a box of shells, a new TV, and medications at 3am is one of the most American, freedom-loving things ever, and it kept you from having to wade through mountains of people.
What pisses me off is that Walmart hasn't gone back to 24hr operations. Those assholes made record profits during covid and since that time my local stores are open fewer hours, the stocking sucks and I routinely see busted up stuff or shelves that appear to have been stocked by a child, choices and offerings are worse, customer service is worse, their online availability display as to what is in the store often does not match what's in the store, and the store isn't as clean as it used to be.
They made more money but are now open fewer hours and the operation is worse. I hope they go under or that someone emerges as a true competitor, open 24hrs.

Walmart is like the poster child for what is wrong with this country in so many ways. It is an easy and safe target for expressing one's frustration with society today

Don’t purposefully associate with trashy people.

Dang man. That's quite the 3am novella Walmarks made you rattle off.

I can only stare at so much butt crack and women wearing shower caps before I gotta scoot outta there.

I don’t like going, but don’t despise it either. I’m also in a smaller town that isn’t too bad most of the time if you stay away from paydays and holidays. Hell, I get a lot of my knock around clothes from there

The closest Walmarks to me is exactly as you describe, and I only go there for certain things unavailable at the real grocery stores. Our other Walmart, about 5 miles across town is remarkably different. It is clean, the employees wear respectable clothing and don't look like tatt'd out trailer trash and crackheads. Just walking into the produce section is a shocker, when you are accustommed to the "other" Walmarks. Neither store has gone back to the 24 hr. format, and that does piss me off. They are no longer about convienence or service.

Back when they were open 24 hours, if you’d go anytime past 10 at night, there was no telling what you might see.

I don’t hate Walmart, I hate Walmart customers.

I don't get why anyone would want to go to WM? There's nothing they sell that can't be found somewhere else, many times at lower costs and/or better qualty.

Not in my experience. For grocery, WalMart is pretty much the lowest cost store.

The Walmart near me is nice. I don't get the hate.especially the crazy idea that other retailers like Target are "classier" and don't exploit workers.

Louisiana (deep South in general) is loaded with people who think they're royalty if they earn over 100k.
Lots of faux class hierarchy from people two generations removed from being in poverty.
Spending more for the same product gives them a feeling of superiority if they don't have to mix with regular folk.

At least Walmart doesn't sell trans kids clothes

I'm fortunate that our local WalMart is pretty clean and well run. It's not super busy and typically, they checkout lines are very short. My only complaint with WM is the in store shoppers that do pick up orders pushing those carts around that block the aisles.

The place sucks. Trashy. I avoid it like the plague

When you live an hour from any other type of store that's where you go.
