I don't wear socks, underwear, or jeans from Walmart. High quality socks and drawers are two of life's greatest pleasures

Who wears underwear anymore? Commando or gtfo

Ex Officio is the way to go.

They know how to do it but theyre too cowardly to suffer the political repercussions because it's their CAREER.
It's not about political repercussions. It's that the solutions will not benefit them in any way. Financially, ideologically, or politically.
Here's where we differ (and also how things have changed from 2 decades ago): you said repercussions. I put forward the idea that even if there were no repercussions unless they benefit they still won't do it. If it was a net-0 for them personally they won't do it.

God, the Walmart clothing area is trash
Walmart has done more more for the poor than gubment.
I agree with you, however the poor used to wear hand me downs and other people's trash. Walmart clothing is a huge step up for them.

Clearly, you should never use Walmart to be fashionable, but if you want a $6 t-shirt for normal use, it's hard to do better.
Jo-Ann Fabrics, baw. Wearing a plain gray t-shirt from them as I type this

I get all my barn shirts in the workout section there

This is just a transition needed to fight climate change.

I happened to look in the clothes section last time I went and loaded up on loungewear aka work from home wear. Hard to beat short and pants for $2 on clearance.

Several restaurants in my area have closed recently. These were established places with a decent following.
The service industries were always going to be completely fricked post lockdowns. Did you order 4-5 steaks the last time you went to the steakhouse to make up for your lack of spending in 2020?
I believe the Fed thinks that 20% of small businesses permanently shut down and that doesn't include any from this year that survived the additional year.

We have hit rock bottom. We now have people on the OT advocating for Walmart clothes. Sad

Which is horribly compounded during economic hardships.

The trend these days is just steal it. Just walk out the door with whatever you want. Stores (walmart included) aren't doing a damn thing to those that steal.

Maybe people just have a better sense of style now and don’t want to be seen in Walmart clothes.
Walmart doesn't carry FR so they aren't getting my business regardless.
