Using the "don't worry, he's friendly" excuse ups your trashy level.

and he runs up to a not friendly dog and gets fricked up. people have such a self-centered view of the world.

It’s pretty much illegal in most public places and comes with a large fine.

Not to mention, it’s reckless for the owner to do that. I see people doing this on busy streets and who’s to say that their dog won’t dart into traffic.

I can't help it if my dog is just better than your dog.

Mine is an 11 year old corgi who won't leave my side.

I only let him off leash on trail walks.

There’s a douchebag in my subdivision that walks his three golden retrievers every day without a leash. Constantly shitting in everybody’s lawn, on the golf course, jumping on people (including toddlers), and snapping at other dogs. “Oh don’t worry, they’re friendlier than they seem!” Every time. Dude sucks.

He’s been confronted by many people but he couldn’t care less.

It's more necessary for 3 year olds to be leashed in public than my dog.

Well- trained dogs may not need a leash.
And the existence of a leash for such an animal will not assure against an aggressive unrestrained dog.
There is nothing trashy about a dog completely responsive to voice commands.
Trashy people do not train or restrain their animals.

first of all, i really do not take my dog to any public place. however, there are instances that she comes in contact with people, or people walking their dogs in front of my house, etc.

my dog listens. i understand it is still an animal, but she is going on 8 years old and has never had an issue.

had her at the park a few years ago (away from others) running her through her retrieving drills, and the park ranger came up to me and told me that she needed a leash. My response of,"...i bet she listens better than your kids" was not received very well by the ranger. i went home immediately after that.

I know, just look at all the 3 year olds out in these streets knocking people over and biting them.

So you yelped and went home with your tail between your legs.

Good boy.

had a guy in mornoe get mad at me once for "sneaking up on his dog" he had out without a leash. I was running on a public trail on a levee.

Told him if the dog was on a leash it wouldnt have been a problem and kept on my way.

As in they will never go up to a person or another dog on a leash?

I won’t argue that they are some amazingly intelligent and trained dogs, but at the end of the day they’re still an animal that could do something that they weren’t supposed to do.

I just let my pits shite on the neighbors yard then laugh about it.

Oh, and they keep chi'rens off my lawn as an added bonus.

Sorry you are lazy and/or have a dumb dog.

Had a guy at a BREC park have 4 unleashed dogs emerging from the woods. I had no issue until his wiener dog tried to bite my 2 year old. He blamed the 2 year old that was on the playground playing when the dog ran up to him. I asked why he didnt have them on a leash and he grabbed a shovel to try and hit me because I told him it was illegal to have them off of a leash. Great guy.
