If the scholarship is a Tulane legislative scholarship, the monetary value is about $260K.

It will be interesting to see what happens. Now all sorts of alleged (most likely made up) salacious stories about him are coming to light.

Interesting how privacy is all of a sudden important.

Due to laws protecting student privacy and employee privacy, I cannot speak publicly on this issue. Please see below.
The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) (20 U.S.C. § 1232g; 34 CFR Part 99) is a Federal law that protects the privacy of student education records. The law applies to all schools that receive funds under an applicable program of the U.S. Department of Education. Generally, schools must have written permission from the parent or eligible student in order to release any information from a student’s education record.
Federal law and Louisiana state law require public school records be kept confidential, ensuring they aren’t unnecessarily disclosed. The two main federal laws regarding the privacy of school records are the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) of 1974 and the Protection of Pupil Rights Amendment (PPRA). Louisiana schools must follow these laws and can’t disregard them because federal laws trump state laws.
A. No school employee shall be denied access to his personnel file. The contents of a school employee’s personnel file shall not be divulged to third parties absent the express written consent of the school employee, except when ordered by a court or by subpoena, and no school system employee other than the personnel file custodian or the superintendent of schools for the system, or the designee of either who shall be a school system employee shall be allowed access to a school employee’s personnel file without the school employee’s express written consent, unless that employee is charged with the duty of supervising that particular school employee’s performance. In the case that a personnel file should be accessed by the superintendent or someone designated by him, the employee whose file was so accessed shall receive written notice of the fact and the name and title of the person who was permitted access. All persons permitted access under this Section shall maintain the confidentiality of those documents in the file which are not matters of public record.
Superintendent Joe Murphy

Yes dumb arse, it’s state law. He’ll be in more trouble if he does discuss it. These reporters know that school employees cant make statements about students or personnel.

Their point was “where were these cares about privacy when it was what happened at an off campus event unaffiliated with the school?”
Privacy only seems important when they feel it does.

Thanks for clarifying to him what I thought was an obvious point.

Kind of astonishing to see so many people render judgement with only the accuser's side.
Yeah but it seems pretty obvious that some kind of groundbreaking news isn’t going to come out in favor of the principal with this situation.
A private party was where this took place. What’s the angle of how he’s going to made to look like the winner with all of this?

Someone mentioned earlier that the father may not be in the picture. Perhaps the principal decided to insert himself into this role for her and felt entitled to have these discussions. Only thing I can think of that would make sense why a seasoned principal would make these mistakes.

the principal told Kaylee that her actions went against the Bible, and questioned her faith.
Well you go to a religious private school this is the kind of thing you're going to deal with.

Oops he done fricked up

Any critical thinking would lead reasonable people to see that twerking would be the form of protest…. You wanna popularize something.. simply tell our youth it’s wrong, immoral and not to do it

Didn’t the DJ share the video on his social media and that’s how it was sent to the principal? There would be no privacy there.
I’m not defending the principal necessarily but I am defending the school board and the principal to have no comment because they can’t discuss it.

I mean, it’s possible she made all or most of it up. Or did I miss an update?

Point has been made throughout the thread that this specific principal has, in the past, refused to comment on issues where the problem activity happened off campus and not at a school sponsored event.
What made him think it was a good idea to address this with the student and use it as a basis to oust her from student government and rescind a recommendation?

It was a private party at a private country club, a non school sanctioned event, the school has no code of conduct in it's rule book, its public, non religious school.
The principal overstepped his boundaries and I would sue the frick out of him and the school board for slandering this 17 year old kid.....the real story will come out...
There is def more to this story

Read the original article man to learn how blatantly her privacy was violated by the principal-
-confronted her about her dancing at a private event in which her mother supervised
-lectured her about morality and religion
-humiliated the girl by forcing her to watch the video after she didnt want to.
If he valued privacy, he'd never have brought any of this up with the girl and pretended he didnt know about it. Im sure countless principals exercise this judgment daily.

I’m only going off what I heard but supposedly there was a code of conduct to be in the organization.
