I don’t think your GP is going to have to make that decision. And if a doctor works at an abortion clinic but morally opposes abortion, he isn’t the brightest.
OBGYNs do, and many oppose abortions.
Do you think an OBGYN should leave their religious opinions at home if a patient comes in seeking an abortion?

doesn't mean one has to agree with it

I wasn’t arguing against that, just clarifying it wasn’t a medical opinion like you were implying.
The PharmD has the quals and licence to fill or not fill medicine for any reason they see fit. It then comes down to, if it is for religious reasons, the people they work for will judge them for that.

No, but it's a pretty silly spot to draw a line in the sand.

I do, yes
If your convictions are that strong about a certain issue, you shouldn't put yourself in a career that might possibly put you in conflict with those convictions
this seems like such a simple thing

Pharmacist is an idiot. Do your damn job. Probably the same person that bitches when welfare recipients come in to get their kids Medicaid scripts.

lol what? My wife is pregnant right now.
Speaking from experience... when a woman has a miscarriage they are not sane. They are extremely traumatized and unstable. It would be foolish to expect them to be rational and patient when the pharmacist doesnt want their business.
I really honestly hope you dont have to find any of this out first hand.

No my problem here is the pharmacist made an "ethical judgement" on very limited information.

He needs to do his job. He isn't going to be damned to hell for filling a prescription.
Just like that county clerk in Kentucky who wouldn't do her job and issue the marriage license.

The medication apparently has other uses.

So now you are trying to tell people what type of jobs they should have??
A Catholic can’t be an OBGYN?

Fair enough, but you would have an extreme shortage of OBGYNs if this were the case.

Eh probably.
How does a doctor reconcile the fact that his very profession is a slap in the face against gods will? If it’s gods will that you die, and the doctor prevents it, he is denying gods will.

Your wife being pregnant is not the same as empathizing with the woman who found out her babys hears has stopped beating in utero.
